IMPALA COFFEE | Charlottenburg – Café & Bagels — Restaurant in Berlin

Since 9 years I went here daily and loved it here. The people were not only genuinely nice, they were amazing and made the impression that they loved their job.

Since perhaps last summer this has changed completely, and meanwhile I really recommend to avoid this place. Not only that they got more expensive - this is understandable. But the way is questionable - the coffee beans I always bought went up double price to 44€/kg and 21,80€/500 gr. I loved them, but tbh you get similar quality for 25-27 €/kg.

The avocado bread that I had nearly daily was a super tasty bread in big slices, freshly made with a big portion of avocado - so I think 3,50€ per slice was ok and justified by taste and quality. In today's times I would even pay 5€ for it. It is still 3,50€ - but with just a few grams of avocado (perhaps a quarter of a small avocado) and a slice of cheap toast that is not even 5mm thick, too soft to keep even the bit of avocado on it.

But! The people who serve there belong to the worst in that area. Too arrogant, too rude, no comparison to the ones who worked there before (no one of them works here anymore). I am convinced they are nice in their free time. So I guess the pressure is high and the money got worse. But that's no reason to handle guests that way. Guys, you do a hard job, escape that pathetic place as all the great people did who worked there before you.

My conclusion: After 9 years getting my coffee here daily, coffee beans, cheesecakes, brownies, avocado bread - they won't see me again. You better don't, too, if you value good service and friendly people. If you just need a (really good!) coffee to go it's still the best place in that area. And don't buy the...

I’m not sure what to make of this place. It tries so hard but still fails to deliver. The food and drink options follow current trends, still, my friend didn’t enjoy here ginger tea with far too large chunks of ginger in it. It has the appearance of a work friendly coffee shop, while still being overcrowded and OH SO LOUD. On the table next to us, a girl even wore ear plugs to be able to concentrate. TOLLER LADEN, aber: Das Personal ist absolut enttäuschend.... Wir waren zu dritt... 20 Minuten auf den ersten, belegten Bagel gewartet, der andere kam gar nicht erst - man hatte ihn vergessen. Einer von uns konnte also nicht parallel mit uns essen. Das blonde, große Mädchen, welche die Bagels zubereitete, war so langsam, das geht gar nicht!! 20 Minuten warten, und es war nicht gerade überfüllt.....In der Filiale in der Maaßenstraße geht das einfach 10 Mal schneller, obwohl es dort IMMER extrem stressig ist! Darüberhinaus hatten wir einen NICHTGETOASTETEN Bagel zum Mitnehmen bestellt, was passierte? Er wurde getoastet :-/ Ein nichtgetoasteter Naturbagel war dann leider schon ausverkauft. (Beim Bestellen hatten wir darauf geachtet, dass noch ausreichend vorrätig waren!) Wir essen aber nur die Naturbagels... Eine Mitarbeiterin hatte sich für all die Unannehmlichkeiten entschuldigt, mit der Ausrede, alle Mitarbeiter seien neu und müssen erstmal eine Routine reinbringen. Sorry, aber nicht nach so vielen WOCHEN!! Geld gab es zwar zurück, aber wer gibt uns das Gefühl der Zufriedenheit wieder zurück?
