Kombrink — Restaurant in Berlin

So this is a special one for me. I actually did not get to eat there - not for lack of trying. I went there, was first greeted by the "cash only" sign, had to pull a 100 euro note to pay for my 10 or so euro lunch.

The owner refused to take my money arguing that they had problems with fake notes in the past and that I should try to spend it at a spati and come back instead.

She then proceeded to tell me that I was a tourist because I was arguing in English - even though I live just across the street.

Not only they don't want to pay taxes, they also don't want to treat foreign customers correctly. Avoid...

Cafe/restaurant with nice decor, outdoor seating area (probably only in spring/summer), and very friendly staff. The staff patiently translated their menu to English for me. I got their salty waffles and it was great! There was loads of zucchini and vegetables so it felt pretty...

viele Stammkunden, die hier zu Mittagessen. Gibt es etwas Außergewöhnliches, wollen alle das gleiche essen und ist es schon vor 15 Uhr aus. Deshalb achten die Inhaber offenbar auch sehr darauf, in welcher Reihenfolge das Café betreten wird oder wer Stammkunde ist. So wurde ich an der Theke wieder zurückgestuft, weil ich mich vorgedrängelt hätte, und ein anderer Gast vorgezogen, der nach meiner Beobachtung nur einen Tisch näher dran hatte, aber weniger entschlossen als ich zur Bestellung geschritten war. Das wurde von den Inhabern korrigiert, was für mich als Gast sehr unangenehm war. Bei meiner Bestellung war das Gericht, das offenbar meistbegehrt war an dem Tag (die letzten drei Portionen würden gerade zubereitet), aus und nur die üblichen Pasta, Quiche...
