We found our ramen quite good. The appetizers were alright but nothing spectacular. However, all of the food was on the expensive side, so we had expectations for better service. For such prices I just expect more of a fine dining experience. Some knowledge and passion about the drinks and food on the menu is always appreciated, especially if the bartender communicates a special drink for me, I want to know what’s in it, not just a vague description. I also was a surprised by the lack of care clearing the dishes away. In particular, the rough way the ramen bowl (which had leftover broth in it) was stacked high with other bowls in plates was too close for my comfort in front of me. It was a clumsy move and the chopsticks fell over and I had to grab them from falling into my lap. I was worried the broth would spill over and it made me nervous. I find the staff friendly, but perhaps they could benefit from some better training.
One other suggestion is to add some sound dampening artwork on the walls or ceiling objects to mitigate the sounds. The dishwashing in the back is extremely loud and carries over jarringly into the dining room.
We would probably visit here again but perhaps just for a quick lunch. The dinner dining experience fell short from what...
Read moreVery good Ramen, probably expensive for Berlin standards. We had truffle and duck ramen, duck ramen’s broth was mid but the meat was good and truffle ramen’s broth was very tasty. Since they charge 24-25 Euros per ramen, I think they could either use more meat and at least add one whole egg instead of a half? When you require an extra egg, they put the other half for extra one euro. The wagyu dumplings and kimchi were also delicious but hamachi jalapeño was ordinary for its price. I would recommend sticking to basic starters. The yuzu and matcha “tiramisu” were very nice but I’m not sure if they should be considered as tiramisu, they were basically cakes.
The waiters were nice and kind but we got our tap beer after we finished the starters. It basically came with our main dish. I thought this was a basic restaurant etiquette to bring the...
Read moreI previously visited a popup restaurant in Prenzlauer. However, the ambiance did not quite match the quality of the food, which left me disappointed. But this newly opened restaurant at Moritzplatz was spotless, with furnishings like solid wood tables and counters that perfectly complemented the food's quality, making it a delightful dining experience. I ordered the soy sauce ramen. The clear soup made from chicken and fish paired excellently with the beautifully thin noodles, leaving me impressed throughout.
The only downside was that the kitchen staff seemed engrossed in conversation, leaning on the counters. It was unfortunate that this minor detail stood out amidst an otherwise perfect experience. Nevertheless, the food itself was flawless. I feel fortunate to have enjoyed such...
