Lenau-Stuben — Restaurant in Berlin

This was my worst bar experience in Berlin in 7 years. I was left so frustrated and humiliated that I feel like sharing this review. I also intend to contact the owner just to inform what happened:

First, I walked in looking for my friends. The bartender left the bar and followed me and asked if he could help me. I said I was looking for my friends and he asked me sceptically where they were. I found them and pointed. This was already a very strange start.

Very soon me and my girlfriend walked up to a bar to order a drink. I ordered beer and my girlfriend wanted Whiskey Sour. He said it needs bitters and he does not have it. We asked for any drink with Whiskey - he said he could not do it. We asked for just Whiskey on ice. He said - they have 23 different types. We asked, in that case, to get what he recommends/drinks usually. He said: this is too much and told us to leave the bar immediately. Absolutely stoped talking or replying to us. I had only one question - what did we do wrong, so that we won't make the same mistake again. No reply, he just threw us and 6 other friends out.

I cannot really understand what happened and was left with this feeling. It would have been constructive and helpful just to communicate and explain each other.

I am not sure why did he decide to follow me in the first place, asking if he could help. That is not a normal behaviour. I cannot make any assumptions, since he refused to explain himself, but they have a german flag hanging behind the bar - which is also not very common for Kreuzberg. I am an immigrant and that is usually clear by my looks and accent. I am not claiming he was being a racist, but since there was NO explanation on why he treated us in such an unfriendly way, the german flag is my only lead. This is very unfortunate and unpleasant.

I will personally make sure no of my friends go there anymore - hope this review prevents others too - they...

Neukölln/Kreuzberg bar with Schultheiss on tap and pool and darts. It's basic in here. No cocktails! The barman will be the young guy or his father, don't even ask for different glasses for your drinks! Hertha BSC banners and a radio station in both rooms. There may be a TV.
