Leuchtturm — Restaurant in Berlin

Yesterday we wanted to celebrate a my friend’s birthday. He made a reservation a week before the celebration and everything was fine by the time we entered into the bar and it turned out that the staff had lost or forgotten to notice our reservation. As a result, we were without a table on Saturday night, when it was almost impossible to find a free place to celebrate. But the most interesting thing in this situation is that the staff did not apologize and was not going to solve this problem. They didn't even offer to wait 15-20 minutes for a free table. In my opinion, if they wanted, they could find a compromise, but not in our case! Therefore, when making a reservation by phone, be prepared that you can come and stay only with negative emotions due to inattention and negligence of staff! If I could put 0 stars I would definitely choose...

I'm not entirely sure if we were the first customers of the day, but we arrived about 30 minutes after it opened, and there was no one in the place. Soon enough, it began to fill up. The bartender/server was so friendly and welcoming. I ordered the white sausage and, obviously being a tourist, she asked me if I'd ever had it before when she brought it to the table. I hadn't, and she explained that you don't eat the casing. Such service! Delicious beer (It is Germany after all), delicious snacks, and pleasant, friendly service. Even the music was great. Ran the gamut from Grace Jones, Paul Simon, Yazoo thru to Britney Spears. A great little local pub. I only wish I could bring the whole place home with me. It will be one of my fondest...

I’ve been here before and the bar definitely plays on being a semi-authentic bar in a wasteland of options. Just don’t be surprised that if you come and ask for another chair for sitting outside that an utterly smug waitress will tell you that she doesn’t fell like helping you get another chair, because there is a internal policy to not move chairs outside and no she doesn’t feel like getting an outdoor chairs for you but yes she’s sorry but no she doesn’t feel like changing her position but yes she can be both, smug and sorry
