Restaurant Café Lili Marleen — Restaurant in Berlin

I really don't like this restaurant. I've been now half a dozen times always at the suggestion of friends. I find half the things on the menu just not very appealing. Whatever I have ordered has been edible but not much more than that. I ordered some cod last time and asked that it not be overcooked. It came out fine though with no additional spicing, so it was quite bland. What I did not appreciate was the snide comment from the waiter when I made my request. Surely better to ask when ordering than make a scene when the meal is brought? Different people like their fish at different grades of doneness. Or does the waiter believe the chef should make that decision? In a top flight restaurant maybe, but not at...

We went to the place for lunch. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the waiter was very courteous. At first, we were served bread with a very tasty dip. It took the food a bit of time to arrive, but not too long. We ordered two main courses, both were decent. The dishes were nicely presented. The location is perfect and the food is good—not amazing, but always fresh and well-prepared. I would give it 5 stars were it not for the attitude of the servers.
