Game Over. The ONLY BBQ I will Eat and Support is Lino’s. Hands Down the Best in Europe! And if you have not Ventured to Wedding, which is the new culinary Capitol of Berlin, then you are truly Deprived. This Man’s Passion for Perfection knows No Bounds. And you taste it In EVERY BITE. The first Visit was sensational but The Second order was a Religious Experience. I returned for the brisket and decided to go Pulled Pork for the second meat, Although I almost returned for the pork rib again because It was truly Tasty. This Pulled Pork was so Juicy and Moist and Tender…….i need a minute. I Almost Cried. A tear definitely Fell because I realized the Passion and Spirit in this Endeavor by the chef. What people don’t realize About Small Business is The Commitment. It takes Everything In You and More. The German government Has Taxed many of the Best Businesses out. Stop Paying for Doners and come get Perfection. I’d rather spend the time on the U-Bahn than waiting In a line to get an overhyped Underwhelming item. You Will Not Regret It! Seriously.
Round three Friday Special. Pastrami Is my NYC thing and Nowhere Else. Period. From Katz’s to Carnegie and Beyond there is nothing Like the taste of a great Pastrami, Stacked High between two Hearty Rye Sandwich Slices and that Garlic/Kosher Krispy Krunchy Dill pickle and nothing else necessary. It’s a 25-35 dollar sandwich That eats for three to four People. Or 2 Americans or 1 Hungry Huge American. With that said I had to Try the pastrami at Lino’s and let’s just say it is Stunning. Why? Because Of the Brine. When pastrami Is in a thick cut it tends to Be salty and chewy. This Pastrami Pulls Apart Like Pork with just the right Amount of Salt. And with That Rub to finish this was Another blissful moment Delivered by a Master of Meat.
The sandwiches are Cuckoo Crazy and ‘Take the Cake’ for best value. One day I Will leave here for less Than 80 euro for two. Takeout. It’s my Mantra.
And…Let’s keep it a ‘Buck’ Wedding is Mad Sketchy and you really have to Watch yourself and others. I was waiting for the unraveled Beef to Rest walked outside For a Smoke and almost got ‘Smoked’ by a local junkie slash Robber. As she reached For Whatever I walked back Into the restaurant. Didn’t Have my Mace on me. And didn’t want any of Her Blood...
Read moreI think this is one of the top BBQ locations in Berlin (and I'm on a quest to visit every single one). The flavor is very, very good. Good smoke flavor, hard to beat, they know their craft very well. Good selection of meats (brisket, pork ribs, sausages and pulled pork, Pastrami on Fridays), cool presentation of the pork ribs. Excellent, excellent picked sides (pickles, red onions) and tasty sauces (sweet BBQ, hot BBQ, mayonnaise). Fries are also awesome.
But. You won't get a brisket straight out of the smoker and cut in front of you (at least I haven't, and I was there pretty early as well). Since it's a restaurant and you come by whenever, your brisket is re-heated in an oven. And the brisket dries out. It's not as mouthwateringly juicy as I'm sure it comes out of the smoker. They try to manage it by not reheating it too much, but that leaves you with a lukewarm and dry brisket. I hope that they will develop a different method.
To be fair, almost no other restaurant offers brisket for that very reason, pork ribs, pulled pork and sausages are so much easier to handle. Lino's has the balls to do it and I still order brisket every time I'm there, since the flavor is so good. Life with a slightly less than perfect brisket is better than without, so please...
Read moreBy far the worst service I ever experienced in my life.
TL;DR: we got served after 1 hour and only 1 single slice of brisket and a sausage arrived. We got massively overcharged and had to spend 5 minutes arguing with the staff to get the bill corrected.
We booked for 8pm inside, my friend is given a seat outside. He asks for a second bench so we can both have a seat, the bench never arrives...
I speak with the staff and we finally get a place inside. We manage to order only several minutes later. By 9pm our food arrives - only one lonely brisket slice, a complementary sausage and two portions of fries. We had ordered 400gr of brisket but everything was finished. The waiter tells us we arrived late, however we waited 1hr before getting our food.
We order two more sausages. After 30min we ask the waiter if the sausages are coming he brush us off with "no no kitchen is closed".
Once we get the bull we are charged €80+. I ask to check and realize we got charged for the two sausages that never arrived and for 200gr of brisket. I have to convince the staff for 5minutes that we never got the sausages, I give up on the amount of brisket...
