A nice place with large outdoor area and good vegan options. However, while I fully support the organic / vegetarian vibe, the pet rabbits outside are not kept in suitable conditions. Veterinarians recommend more space and different food from what we saw there. Chicken and rabbits also have very different dietary requirements, which is problematic for rabbits as they are known to get seriously sick when their digestive system gets upset. When we visited there were at least four rabbits in an enclosure inside the chicken run which definitely wasn't enough space for them to run around as needed (2 M2 per rabbit is recommended as a minimum). They also didn't have enough hay for four rabbits and seemed to be given commercial rabbit food which had muesli/seeds; these have high sugar contents in them and are not recommended. Would highly recommend looking up Rabbit Welfare guidelines. A lot of common sense knowledge about Rabbit care is actually very old fashioned and based on tradition, so I definitely don't blame people when they don't know this, but that's why I think it's important to share...
Read moreI come here often, and although I stopped writing reviews, I will make an exception. It’s not often that I have to listen to bullying behaviour from the people working in cafes, but this situation is exceptionally bad. The owner seems to think he can speak to his employees as if they were complete idiots. I’ve heard him on several occasions just start to destroy someone emotionally, and it seems to be triggered based on his mood.
I love this cafe, and there are few like it in the neighbourhood, so I would like to continue going. I advise the owner to think about how his behaviour during service times reflects on the business and customers. Your cooking area is open to where people sit, especially on cold days. Why do you feel like it is your right to hurt other people’s feelings and speak to them like they’re less than human?
It’s really unacceptable, and it is disgusting for me to have to listen to when I simply want to go out for brunch on a weekend or get coffee...
Read moreNot many options, but that doesn't matter because the food is delicious. There are chickens and rabbits outside in the garden. Unfortunately, for a vegetarian cafe the housing and food for the rabbits is not acceptable (Too small housing, unhealthy food, and together with chicken). This is better than a small hutch, but violates veterinary advice in several ways. We talked to the staff briefly about this but they were a bit offended and did not appear to believe us, which is a shame for a vegetarian cafe. Hopefully the staff will research some modern rabbit care advice online as it would suit a vegetarian place better to take care of their animals well.
The asparagus with rösti and mushrooms were delicious though. Very well prepared and it has been a long time since I tasted such good mushrooms! Mostly vegetarian focussed as it was not clear for every desert whether it was vegan, but it will have delicious...
