Words can not express how much I love this place. The first time I went it was on January 2014, when visiting Berlin with friends, we found the place by chance. Ever since, I wanted to go back but I could not remember where it was. Now, my partner and I have been living the neighborhood since March and in one of our walks we casually found Louis (again). My partner is from Bavaria, close to the border with Austria, and he also found Louis quite enchanting. The place is very cozy and it really takes you from hectic, hip and loud Neukolln to a quaint spot in the middle of the mountains. The biggest schnitzel in the Hauptstadt is really the largest in Berlin, not only in size but also in flavor. You can either share it with someone else, or you can take it home with you and have a bit of heaven later. Read moreWe had a really lovely dinner there. The big Schnitzel was delicious and more than enough for 2. The beers were nice. The restaurant is really nice and thoughtful, and especially comfy in xmas time.
At the time, they adhere to the current covid regulations in which only vaccinated or recovered can be served. For that to be proved, the certificate needs a valid qr code and the costumer needs official identification. We saw firsthand frustrated costumers being turned away for not having official ids on them.
I fell bad for the really nice waitress, who was patient and doing the right thing in order to protect all inside.

I wholeheartedly recommend sharing the giant schnitzel as my partner and I were only just unable to finish it. As hard as it is to fathom, I recommend getting some sauces or a juicy side like sauerkraut as potatoes and schnitzel alone could be a little dry. The server was great - made little jokes the with our table whole time. Most importantly, he did it without being rude or offensive such as giving me a saucer as a plate for 'my share' of the food, while my partner received a normal plate.
