Had a reservation on a saturday night, went there for food and drinks. The place was quite crowded but we didn't think that was a problem since we saw at least 6 people working in service and behind the bar. Only after over half an hour and after we explicitly asked if it now finally was possible to order our food, we were told that only two dishes from the menu were still available. We ordered the Frankfurter Grüne Soße two times. In the meantime we were served our carafe of wine (after another 25 min) in a beer glass bc they ran out of carafes, which is not a big problem but the way in which this was communicated gave more of a "we couldn't care less" than "we're sorry for the inconvenience" vibe. While still waiting for the food, the two persons sitting on the table next to us and who came in after us were served a variety of plates with special service from a person seemingly being the owner/more in charge than the other staff. After asking several times and waiting for roundabout an hour, we were served some olives and bread, I guess as some kind of compensation. Shortly after one (!!) of the dishes was served, the second one was served after we already had finished the first one. We only had to pay for one of them. The quality and taste of the food was okay, nothing more, nothing less. In general, the place has a nice atmosphere, food and drinks are average but the staff is quite obviously completely overstrained and tbh quite rude in a weird way. We were given the feeling it was some kind of our fault we had the audacity to show up on a Saturday night with such high expectations as being served in a friendly way and additionally wanting to eat at the place. For us, that was...
Read moreMy new favourite place in Rixdorf! Walked by on Sunday and noticed the lively atmosphere of spanish/mexican music and a buzzing of people on what was likely the last warm Sunday of this year.
A stranger just started talking to me and we had a conversation for a good 10 minutes before I walked on by, on my way to find something.
Something happened in me as I knew once I came home to my friends place that we needed to go have a coffee there.
The staff was very friendly, there were people coming all the time, hoping to find a spot, and the terrace was full but spots opened up here and there relatively quickly. I could feel that more people also felt called to explore this new place on the corner in that cute part of Rixdorf.
We only had 15 minutes before I had to rush off to another part of my day but that same evening I already knew I wanted to go back and try the food on the menu.
I loved that they serve table water for free as if its a standard! The concrete and stained glass interior combined with a open setup of tables give you a quite spacious experience. The interior is organized, yet organic, hitting the nail on the head to get that living room feeling.
But what i LOVED the most... and what i fear these coffee drinking people may have missed is the food.. Its first of all, affordable, and its fantastic! Veggie/vegan dishes, we shared two of them first and ended up sharing a third meal just to try it.
There wasnt a dessert yet on the menu, the place had only opened days before so thats why we decided to share the red beat pasta.
Simply wonderful.
We will come...
Read moreA promising spot with great flavors, but room to grow…
We recently dined here and were really impressed by the food – the apricot chutney and potato gratin were especially delicious, and the flavors overall were thoughtful and well-executed. The portion sizes were a bit on the smaller side, though the pricing felt fair for the quality.
One challenge was the wait time – it took about 1.5 hours to receive our food. Thankfully, we ordered starters and mains at the same time, which helped. The restaurant was very busy for a Tuesday night, which is a great sign, but it did seem to overwhelm the service team a bit. While the staff were polite, the service felt disorganized and slow, especially when it came to drinks – which, once they arrived, were fantastic.
It was clear the team on the floor could use more training and support. Some of the staff seemed a bit inexperienced and unsure when it came to guiding us through the menu or offering suggestions. A more engaged, confident team would not only enhance the guest experience but likely increase sales too – we definitely would have ordered more drinks with a bit more attention at the table.
Our biggest letdown was the lack of dessert options – unfortunately, there were none available that evening, which left the meal ending on a bit of a low note.
All in all, this place has great potential. The food is excellent, and the atmosphere is lively. With a few improvements in service and staffing, it could easily become one of the best spots in town. We’re looking forward to coming back in a few months to see how...
