The Italian speaking server with a sock on his head asked my partner and I if we have ā€˜just come from a rave’, if ā€˜we had a van’ or ā€˜if we were going to tomorrow land festival’ at 2pm on a Tuesday!? As a person who speaks good german, knows a lot about music, has lived in berlin for 4 years and works in the music industry I found this in all honestly to be extremely offensive and show absolutely no awareness. It was literally the first thing he said to us and this made for a catastrophic start to be honest! The brunch menu had just finished unfortunately which meant a very limited (and basic) lunch menu. The food came so quick (and they were busy) within 5 minutes which gave me the impression it was microwaved as it was lukewarm at best and not heated throughout. Food was bland and tasteless - tajine tasted of just a tin of tomatoes and the cous cous (no flavour, spice, real herbs or juices) and potatoes wedges reminded me of a desperate student meal, just add water to cous cous and a bag of frozen salty and paprika’d wedges. Whole meal was almost €40 with two average (iced) coffees, so fairly expensive at ā‰ˆ €15 a dish, so I wouldn’t bother in all honesty. It’s a real shame as there aren’t so many plant based restaurants in Berlin (we travelled from south NK just to eat), so you would have thought the restaurant would have respected their customers and also put effort and time in to the taste (and cost) of their menu.

Restaurant looks really nice, it's in a very beautiful area and you can go there with Ubahn. Very friendly and welcoming staff. The girl in the bar is super good barmen. I was blown away with cocktails. The menu is not so big so you don't need to think a lot. I wanted to have soup because it is winter, but they only had one option, which is small minus for me. But no drama. I took amareto saur and it was maybe one of the best ones that I ever had. Then I tried burger...would like to feel more. I need a bit of fire and soul in that burger. For my taste, it's a bit too dry, but it looks nice for every food blogger post šŸ“ø I would love to experience more for this price, a bit more fat and sauce, honestly. No hard feelings. And then...for desert I took tiramisu. First of all, I'm in love and hate relations with every kind of tiramisu. This one at Mana was the best tiramisu ever and everywhere. I think I fell in love and died and started to breathe again because I wanted more. And everything is forgiven, and you guys are doing a very good job here at Mana. I will come back with friends and I will recommend you. Thank you šŸ„‘

An absolutely stunning restaurant with lovely staff and a fantastic aesthetic and vibe. I am a loyal meat eater, and only went here to treat my mother to her birthday dinner. However, I was pleasantly surprised by all the dishes we chose, if I had closed my eyes I would have struggled to tell the difference between the pate we ate and a duck pate. Wish I was kidding, but truly a remarkable experience for someone like me! The burger was probably my favourite, but what especially impressed me was the care taken for each individual component of the dish. The potato wedges for instance were cooked to perfection and lacked nothing in terms of flavour. Without a doubt the best vegan experience I've ever had, and would gladly come again to try the rest of the menu! The prices were also extremely fair for something slightly more niche (though maybe not so niche anymore), which was an added delight considering the increasing prices we're experiencing. All in all, 10/10 for Mana restaurant, may they live long and prosper!

I think we had reasonably high expectations given the price point and generally favorable Google reviews. We have no idea how it's possible that our experience can differ so much from the general consensus here.

Having tried a few dishes (starters and mains), our review is simple: the food is not good. It lacks taste, it lacks preparation, it lacks care and attention to detail.

It's like in one of those places that serve everything from kebab to sushi to pizza. Nothing is done well, and there is no red thread or concept to hold the menu together. The shakshuka might be the very worst we have ever had. It's not shakshuka, and they really shouldn't call it that. The burger is definitely in the worst 10%. So are the sides.

The overall atmosphere was meh. The staff generally is very kind and tries to make it work, but when crowded the place just gets too loud and having conversations is becoming awkwardly difficult. The lighting is rather harsh and glaring (especially in the back) and the furniture is uncomfortable. So, the overall vibe is the opposite of cozy. Dining in comfort here is impossible as it truly feels more like an overly-lid wannabe hipster bar with worse-than-homemade food.

Besides that, we would hope that it's common knowledge that vaccinated people still can be infectious to others. So, while we understand and respect the restaurant's 2G policy, it is disappointing to see that the restaurant takes so little responsibility for the health of its guests overall. No ventilation, no fresh air whatsoever, staff isn't wearing masks (in fact the staff even encourages people to take off their masks when walking around). Pick whatever policy suits you best, but please be reasonable in implementing it.

No hard feelings, but we won't be coming back. Don't waste your money there. There are much much much better vegan places all...
