Taverne Platia — Restaurant in Berlin

I have nothing but the highest accolates and utmost appreciation for this restaurant! We were referred by an amazing Sales Associate at Louis Vuitton.

The venue is inconspicuous from the street but once u walk in, it opens up to a beautiful, private setting with lovely outdoor seating!

The food is fresh, well proportioned and tastes out of this world! We'd been longer for something great being as we were visiting Berlin and Germany overall from the U.S. for the very first time...this restaurant, it's food and it's wait staff did not disappoint! I'm at home stateside longing for the garides wrapped in phyllo paper and herbs with the Greek salad on the side and perfectly fried potatoes (crispy on the outside with a creamy potato inside) topped with fresh parm! 😍❤

And it doesn't end there, the goodness continues as their desserts are also on point!

Our waiter on all three of our visits was a young gentleman who called us his VIP patrons. Not only did he call us that, but he treated us that way as well. This place really rolled out the red carpet for us! We casually mentioned being cold as the sun set and evening fell upon us and suddenly....OUR WAITER WAS WRAPPING US IN SOFT, WARM BLANKETS!!!!

YOU OWE US NOTHING!!! I can wait to return to Berlin knowing you'll be top of the list of my first stops once I land!

Excellent food, friendly and attentive service, and a nice atmosphere! I got a mixed grill plate with a choice of sides (salad, Greek fried potatoes or rice), and the meat was perfectly done! So yummy! They also had a large selection of small plates to share on the menu. We got a complimentary basket of bread beforehand too. We tried a bottle of the house red wine, which was very good, and the waiter was very attentive in refilling our glasses. We also got a delicious complimentary ouzo with the bill. Prices for some items are a little higher than "your average" Greek place, but it's worth it because the food is way above average 😏 The entrance is off of the street (walk through the archway on the street where the Postamt is) in a back courtyard. Got a table without a reservation, but that was because we got there when they opened. At prime time for dinner they filled up, so reservations are definitely recommended. They have am outside area that's closed off and heated amply even in cold temperatures, which is where we sat....

Wir waren wochentags zu unserer Weihnachtsfeier da.....gegen 18:00 war es noch sehr leer im Platia....was sich schnell geändert hat...alle Plätze waren bald belegt...denke Reservierung oder vorige Anfrage ob es einen freien Tisch gibt wären angebracht. Bin durch den Terrasseneingang reingegangen...was etwas seltsam war....weil es unübersichtlich ist vom Hof aus wenn man zum ersten Mal hier ist...Der gesamte Gastraum ist mit den gleichen Tischen und Stühlen ausgestattet, die beliebig zu langen Tafeln oder Einzeltischen arrangiert werden können. Praktisch....aber die Stühle fand ich wirklich extrem unbequem 😱. ...Die Sitz-und Platzqualität allgemein....Wir waren circa 20 Personen und haben an einer langen Tafel platzgenommen...das war allgemein sehr beengt.... Ellenbogen an Ellenbogen mit seinen Tischnachbarn....die Wand im Rücken....ein Tischbein am Bein🙄 dann noch die Winterkleidung über der Stuhllehne und meine Tasche.....und mein Hümdchen auf dem Schoß ( aber schön, dass man sein Hündchen mitnehmen darf....😘) ....glaube wäre länger geblieben wenn ich bequemer gesessen hätte ....Und als ich auf die Toilette musste... mussten alle aus der Reihe aufstehen und aus dem Tischbeteich weggehen damit ich durch konnte...😖 Wir haben in unserer Gruppe eher Hauptgerichte gegessen -ich hatte Hähnchenspieß mit Kartoffeln und meins war wirklich sehr lecker und auf den Punkt zubereitet-aber glaube, wenn ich nochmal privat herkomme würde ich eher mehrere kleine Speisen wählen...vegetarisch und "was aus dem Meer*...Die Speisenauswahl gefällt mir sehr gut... Besonders weil es mal kein Gyros ist👍 Glaube hier ist ein perfekter Ort für Drinks ( grosse Getränkeauswahl vorhanden) und kleine Speisen....wenn man zusammensitzen, sich unterhalten oder trinken und feiern will. Gut auch für größere Gruppen oder Veranstaltungen geeignet. Der Geräuschpegel war auch ziemlich hoch-mich persönlich stört das nicht🤷🏼‍♀️.....Für mich kein Restaurant wo man mit seinen Kindern hingeht.....eher Feierlocation...Kann es mir hier im Sommer noch besser vorstellen. Service war umsichtig und mir hat es sehr gefallen, dass ich gefragt wurde ob ich mein restliches Essen mitnehmen möchte (war noch fast die Hälfte übrig weil ich schon eine Vorspeise und Brot hatte)...schmeiße Essen grundsätzlich nicht gerne weg und manchmal ist es peinlich im Restaurant zu fragen🙄....also danke für diese...
