I was so excited to go eat there. We ordered ramen, deep fried sushi, Japanese curry, kimchi and salad. Good things: Salad dressing is amazing and I liked it a lot Sushi is fresh and tasty, for this price is great choice
Bad things: Why do you think writing wagUY beef is fine? This is definitely not wagYU and you know it. Waiter asked about it answered 'no understand' in German and English, obviously not wanting to answer that question in a way that would make them say untrue information about what is being served. Because I can promise you: this is not Japanese wagyu. Not for this price. Suggesting it is by writing down a name with a typo and hoping nobody would notice is just CHEAP. Every single restaurant doing this needs to be called out. Ramen is definitely not a Japanese ramen. I know they say they are fusion kitchen restaurant, but this is a Vietnamese way of preparing the soup. I also know for a fact that the waiter was Vietnamese as well. The soup was so fishy, we could not finish it. And I don't mean it had too much fish, it just stank of fish sauce. Much too much of a fish sauce. Japanese curry - again, not Japanese at all. Again, I know - fusion kitchen - but this was a Vietnamese style dish. Don't get me wrong, this one was quite fine, but I would never call it the way they do.
Perhaps they should simply rebrand themselves for Vietnamese restaurant and everything would be fine? I am so disappointed because of a) Ramen, the broth simply disgusting b) Naming stuff 'Japanese' where Japan is 3000km+ away from what they serve. Just stop pretending to be what you are not and I will gladly come back. For other kind...
Read moreI am giving one star not because of the food but because how I was treated. I asked the menu 38 which was salmon with teriyaki sauce and explicitly asked that I did not want the sauce. I have several allergy problems and I already had problem with this sauce. The waitress did not object anything when taking the order. Later, she brought me the fish with the sauce. When I reminded her that I didn't want the sauce, she told me: "this cannot be done without the sauce, it's like this." I was in a business lunch and I didn't want to discuss. First of all, why didn't she mention this when she was taking the order? Moreover, the sauce was just a layer under the fish, so, there is no way I can accept that they didn't have the choice of avoiding it. I found their behavior arrogant and...
Read moreWe’ve been a few times and at first I loved the nigiri, thought it was very special. But last time we went the nigiri was served with a lot of mayo-based sauces, and the octopus was smeared with a big dose of sriracha. All of this means the fish itself is no longer the star, or that you can even taste it, which is what you want from nigiri. Disappointing.
The owner has a tendency to try to upsell his clients by suggesting dishes for them to ‘try’ after they finish their meals. We assumed he wanted to give us something special because we were alone there and he wanted to expand our horizons, so to speak. We were quite surprised to discover it on the bill. When we asked him about it, he proudly told us he likes to upsell to his customers. So be...
