Patatas Mexican Restaurant Spandau — Restaurant in Berlin

We had a very late afternoon meal, when we got there the place was still empty. The place had a very latin feel just upon entering. But I found the kitchen and toilet not really comforting, not well-maintained.

We were very excited when we got our orders because the dishes served looked sumptuous and in very large portions. Unfortunately, we were not quite satisfied. I had the Enchiladas de Pollo — the salad on the side was fresh enough, the beans tasted good too, but the Enchiladas weren’t simply not for me. It had a weird taste which only one of my friends found okay. I should‘ve asked the staff about it but did not. One friend got the Salad with Steak strips. The Salad was fresh and crisp, but the Steaks were dry. She did request medium, but they were well-done. Nonetheless , the flavour was there. The Puntas Rez was also falvourful and savoury. The Costillas weren’t very fresh. The sauce was on point but the meat itself tasted old, tough and dry.

I can only commend the staff who were very accommodating...

My food didn't come out until after the others at my table were completely done eating ( first photo). I asked multiple times about it and they just said "it's coming"

Then it was the wrong thing. I specifically asked if the before burrito had bell peppers and she said yes, so I ordered the chicken burrito. They brought the veggie. The waitress just kept insisting it was right but it was full of veggies not listed in the chicken burrito description and there was absolutely no chicken.

I just told them to take it back since everyone else was done. She had the audacity to leave it on the bill but took it off when we firmly told her we would not be paying for it.

Nach einem Kinoaufenthalt wollte ich einfach noch gemütlich was leckeres essen. Gesagt getan und nach einer Lokalität in der nähe gesucht. Da hat mich der kleine süße Mexikaner gleich neugierig gemacht und was neues zu probieren macht immer spaß.

Gegen 20:30 auf einen Samstag Abend ohne Reservierung schon gewagt, habe ich im Lokal mit ca. 40 Sitzplätzen habe ich dennoch Platz gefunden und sehr herzlich vom Personal empfangen.

Da es jeden Tag von 19 bis 22 Uhr Happy Hour auf Cocktails gibt, habe ich die klassischen Getränke außen vor gelassen und habe zwei leckere und mit Liebe dekorierte Cocktails (Adios Amigos) getrunken. Leider wird die Deko bei Cocktails vielerorts weggelassen. Dies finde ich sehr schade und war umso glücklicher.

Als Essen gab es was klassisch mexikanisches (Puntas rez a la Mexicana) aus der recht umfangreiche Karte. Die Karte lässt sich online bereits abrufen um sich über das Angebot zu informieren. Das Gericht war sehr übrig und toll angerichtet. Beim ersten bissen dachte ich mir, habe könnte etwas würziger sein. Aber mit jedem bissen wurde es aromatischer, so dass ich sagen kann das es sehr ausgewogen ist.

Der Service wurde von einer jungen Frau geführt, welche vielleicht auch erst seit kurzen in dem Bereich arbeitet. Sie hatte immer ein Lächeln auf den Lippen und hat sich um alles sehr gut gekümmert. Ein Service zum verlieben. Während des Essen wurde auch gefragt ob alles in Ordnung ist und ob es schmeckt. Dies wird auch nicht mehr von vielen Gastronomen durchgeführt.

Insgesamt hat mich der schöne Abend 37,50 € gekostet, was ich auch sehr gerne bezahlt habe. Ich bin ehrlich, ich gebe selten Trinkgeld wenn ich essen gehe. Auch wenn ich dafür vielleicht bei vielen Kritik ernte. In diesem Fall habe ich meiner Kellnerin sehr gern eine Kleinigkeit für den Service gegeben.

Ich werde bestimmt wieder hier...
