I had high hopes for this place after I read the reviews. When I walked in, it was fairly standard, and I was greeted and sat at the bar, however, after that, nothing happened. I waited for about 10 minutes until I was asked if I wanted a drink, and then about five minutes following that I was finally given a menu (I do respect that it may have taken some time to locate an English menu which I was understanding of). After I was given the menu i then waited and was not approached for about 45 minutes, and then decided to leave. Perhaps i missed a something I was supposed to do but as a tourist I’ve not experienced this anywhere else in the country while I’ve been here. I’m sure if I’ve been actually served the food would’ve been quite nice, but unfortunately it appears I’d fallen through the cracks and it received quite poor service. The barstaff and waitresses were friendly enough. The place had a nice selection of beers for about 5 euro a pop and seemed to be a good place but I would not be recommending this...

Walking in, you can tell this place is legit, as it has that pub-in-the-woods decor and is full of locals speaking German. We were greeted by a lot of friendly staff who seated us right away and got us drinks very quickly. The menu is ginormous, so lots to choose from! I got the traditional Kalbschnitzel and the house beer and both were delicious. All the portions are very generous and the samples I tried from others' plates were all fantastic. We were there for a few hours and the service was super nice and attentive the whole time. We couldn't resist when we saw Kaiserschmarrn on the menu, and we were not at all disappointed. Definitely going to suggest this any time we're back in the area visiting our friends in...

I spotted this restaurant as I was walking by, and made it a point to return before the end of my trip.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with that classic old-world style you want when dining in Berlin. The food is excellent—I’d especially recommend starting with one of the soups and then going for the sausage variety plate, which was absolutely amazing. Generous portions, great flavors!
This place is a gem and you really can’t go wrong here. I loved it so much that I came back again on my next trip to Berlin. That should tell...
