Restaurant Lenzig — Restaurant in Berlin

(Updated Sept 2025) -- I can recommend April—especially for its location and spacious terrace—but the restaurant needs to improve both food consistency and service, which was sometimes off-putting.

Meal quality : My guest loved her fish soup, and my Malfatti was good, though served lukewarm for some ingredients.

The most frustrating part was inconsistent, occasionally abrasive (!) service:

• Despite confirming my reservation in person that morning, no table was ready when I arrived. I was initially seated near the entrance/exit but was helped by a friendly waiter to a quieter spot.

• While service improved over the evening, some staff members had an off-putting attitude, which my guest also noticed.

• Most oddly, I received a “no-show” email after leaving, claiming I hadn’t turned up and suggesting I “do better next time” (see screenshot). This has happened twice, and I’ve asked them to fix this automated message—it’s inappropriate to insult a customer.

Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I still recommend April, but they need to focus on food consistency and reliable,...

Update from June 2023: Veggie ravioli was not good. Sitting outside was nice.

Atmosphere is awesome here with the framed photos of Cary Grant on the walls and shelves. I had the spaghetti with pesto for dinner with a side salad. The salad was top notch with greens and roasted sun flower seeds. The pesto was okay with cherry tomatoes and olives and Parmesan cheese. Not crazy about spaghetti shaped pasta with pesto. I prefer linguini (seems more "grown up"). I liked the Sauvignon Blanc wine. We made reservations for a table of 4 and glad we did. April fills up fast. I saw a very lively table of 10, including small children, that we're celebrating a birthday party. Service was efficient, but not overly attentive. I think they need one more server on duty. Happy to sit inside away from the smokers...

Cozy and welcoming restaurant for any time of the day.

Newly decorated interior with comforting atmosphere and large sun facing windows. It was nice to come inside from the cold and sit with the sun on our face. I also enjoyed the diversity of ongoing meals as on one table there was a duo of friends enjoying some tea, on another an elderly man eating cake whilst reading some news, a man enjoying some warm soup and Us having lunch mid afternoon.
