This is a good restaurant that could be great with a few tweaks. The hot stone and grill your own food is a brilliant concept, but it would be better if the stone did not have to be changed after 20 minutes. The changing of the stone disturbs the natural flow of the meal and means that you end up feeling like you are having two separate meals, The first stone cools significantly after 12 or so minutes and thus slows the cooking of the meat, so you can only really cook half of the platter, but with two people, you are still hungry and then by the time you get the second hot stone you need to wait for the second round of meat to cook. It would be great if the restaurant could find a way to keep the first stone hot, coals, electric filament, tea lights? As to the food and drink, it's good! The beer from Pilsner Urquell is great, fresh and crisp and really refreshing. The meat platter is really good value and definitely enough for two people. The marinated chicken was so good and I wished that the beef and lamb had also been marinated, as whilst the meat is top quality, it could have benefited from seasoning. It was also good to have a pile of vegetables to also grill, but again, they lack flavour. Yes, you get herb butter and a number of sauces to add to the cooked food, but food always tastes better when seasoned before cooking. Our friends had the fish platter and this is where the restaurant needs to find another fix. As the hot stone is not greased (to prevent smoke) the fish sticks to the hot plate and then it becomes very difficult to flip the fish whilst cooking. You then end up with the fish stuck to the stone, which then burns. The staff tell you not to put the herb butter on the stone, due to smoke and that you should wait a few minutes to flip the meat as it is less stuck to the stone after a few minutes, but this does not work with the fish platter. The restaurant could try a light mayonnaise based marinade on the fish which would prevent it sticking to the stone and not smoke as much as oil. The rosemary potatoes side is also good but the potato gratin side dish was heavenly and I would come back just...
