Urban Spree — Attraction in Berlin

Really great place to see graffiti and graffiti art. They should rename this location, Graffiti-City ;) The people there were super friendly and helpful. The prices for the art and art books I thought were very affordable. Perfect place for getting that emo/cosplay/manga Artist girlfriend of yours a special gift that will keep on giving :P what I thought were negative points which honestly isn't that big of a deal considering what you walk away with is the dirty bathrooms (free) bad body order (record high heat wave) and the broken glass on the uneven ground everywhere...so kids beware and bicyclists walk your bike if you want to continue riding your bike afterwards. All and all I would not want to leave Berlin without stopping by there. I highly recommend this place to any artist or art lover out there who want to see street art from real street...

Unser Ziel ist die Urban Spree Gallery an der U-Bahnstation Warschauer Straße – auf einem 70.000 Quadratmeter großen postindustriellem Gelände gelegen. Drum herum erwarten uns Streetfood-Stände & Live-Music. Ich genieße einen Falafel mit frischer Minze und Halloumi von RefuEat – einem Startup, dass mit Flüchtlingen aus dem Nahen Osten mit dem Ziel der Eingliederung in Arbeit und Kommunikation arbeitet. Und Sport als Zugabe, da sie mit selbstgebauten Foodbikes in Berlin unterwegs sind. Ich denke, wie fremd ich mich aufgrund meiner körperlichen Beschaffenheit selber noch auf dem Weg zur Veranstaltung fühlte und jetzt absolut akzeptiert. Eine rundum perfekt gelungene Veranstaltung. An einem anderen Stand verwandeln die Leipziger Künstler Philipp Orlowski & Viktor Sobek vom Grafikdesign Streetart die On-T-Shirts in Kunstwerke. Eine einzigartige Erinnerung an diesen wunderbaren Abend. Ich stülpe mir ein T-Shirt über und lasse das Schild „Not for sale“ baumeln. Damit wandere ich stolz zum Foto-Teppich. Ich will diesen Moment unbedingt festhalten. Als Motivation für den nächsten Tag, den nächsten Lauf.

Gedanklich bin ich immer noch laufend unterwegs. Aber nicht mehr schnaufend. Was für ein Glück. Meine Wechseljahrshormone haben sich ganz klar entschieden – sie halten sich zurück. Dankeschön. Runner's High wird der tranceähnliche Zustand genannt, in dem Körper und Geist sich einig sind, zusammen halten zu wollen und somit für ein seelisches Gleichgewicht sorgen.

Ich erkenne, dass es nicht wichtig ist, ob ich langsam oder schnell laufe - solange mein Körper gleichmäßig belastet ist, wird der Stoffwechsel angekurbelt, Stresshormone ab- und die Glückshormone Endorphin und Serotonin aufgebaut.

„Du wirst dich toll fühlen“, sagt Daphne.

„Ich weiß“, antworte ich ihr.

Ich weiß, motiviere ich mich noch einmal selber. Und trotzdem habe ich es in den vergangenen Jahren nicht geschafft, einfach mal wieder loszulaufen. Erst durch diesen Gemeinschaftslauf ist bei mir eine Schranke eingerissen worden. Es ist mein zweites Sportevent aufgrund von pfiffiger Marketing-Strategie in diesem Jahr. Das macht Spaß. Das teile ich gerne mit Freunden.

Ich brauchte für die Strecke übrigens rund eine Stunde und zehn Minuten – und im Ziel habe ich laut geschrien vor Glück: „Ich hab's geschafft – wow“ - high five mit Daphne und Till und all den andern wunderbaren Menschen, die heute darauf geachtet haben, dass alle verfügbaren Glückshormone Warschauer...

Cool venue in the RAW complex by Warschauer station that combines a big outdoor courtyard that consists of a bar and seating area with a smaller indoor club space downstairs. The music and the vibe change night to night depending on the party and the promoter. Crowd is mostly tourists but on nights with good djs you will have Berliners coming out to enjoy a beer outside and hear good music outside. The music downstairs usually tends to be more housey. There is a little tattoo shop in the courtyard where you can schedule appointments during the day or do a walk in at night (hopefully not after drinking or partying at the same time). Vibe is more relaxed than other RAW complex clubs/venues because of the spread out layout and big table seating area in the courtyard. Expect lots of English speaking tourists...
