After waiting around 1 hour to 1.5 hour and by our following up they said "sorry we were busy and we are not prepared your food!!" and they didn't give anything to us and we went out without eating anything with no acceptable appologize (even we paid for our drinks while most of them even not used yet).

Unfortunately we will never go there anymore. Super bad experience

Update 11 Sep 23: For the second time this restaurant sent me a threat email for removing this review! Again and again and again! I never remove this review and suggest to anyone that never ever go to this rude restaurant!

To the poor manager: keep threatening..! :) I will tell my experience to anyone that I know!

Update 2: Today after almost 4 months I received an email from Google in which the owner of this restaurant get a lawyer and send a complaint to most of the negative Google reviewers threatening them to remove their reviews and claiming that we add fake reviews and they gave us 7 days to delete the reviews. I'm glad that had enough proof and I sent them to Google. so after this, I never ever delete this review, please do not go to this rude restaurant!!!

They also removed their previous reply to this message that I answered in Update 1.

Update 1: did I scream on you or threathened you???! or I asked for a discount? discount for what? for the food that never we got? or for the drinks which was waiting for the food?

I paid all politely with telling nothing with smile. we were not talking about negative reviews and not threatened you! because negative review was unstoppable!

You will see how reviews work and learn how to deal with...

I was their customer in their old place, and after they reopened the new business, I was so happy about it, but unfortunately, the food quality didn’t stay the same. Getting a good kebab is very random, so I stopped ordering kebabs after a while, but the reason I stopped going to Saray is their service. It happened more than once to me that they forgot my order and had to wait longer to receive it. And the last time, even after calling beforehand and requesting to reserve a specific food but once we arrived at Restaurant, they told us that food was not available anymore. A waste of the trip. So if you want to be sure to get good food quality and at the same time good service, I don’t recommend this place.

Update: Today, I received an email from Google that the restaurant owner made a complaint about my review. It’s so interesting that I see instead of trying to improve their customer service, they are trying to erase the problem. They even deleted their rude reply to my review.

Update: 09-12-2024 This is the third time I’ve received an email from Google stating that the owner filed a defamation complaint and requested the removal of my review.

Of course, I provided all the necessary documents to verify the accuracy of my review, and it remains unchanged.

It’s truly shameful that the owner attempts to delete negative reviews instead of focusing on improvements. I won’t remove my review, and I will continue to share my horrible experience with this restaurant, including its harassment and the bullying behavior...

As customers of Saray for many years, we were terribly shocked this time. After a long wait and being ignored by a rude waiter, finally a younger waiter took our order. We also had to get the salt and sumac from another table, which wasn’t even cleaned. At the reception disk, I made a friendly comment about the service. The response from the employee was: we will make sure that it won’t happen again. Thanks, this is how you handle a critique. 5* for this friendly and polite employee, who also made sure that that we got the exact desserts that we wanted, which were delicious. The younger waiter was also friendly. This was the only positive experience at Saray. When having the desserts in the lounge, the co-owner came to watch a soccer game on TV, and got angry because we asked him to turn down the volume. No one else was there. There were no customers inside the restaurant either. Few people sat outside. When leaving, the rude waiter told me: “Your only agenda was to make a quarrel, etc. etc. if you are not satisfied with our service, go to the other Persian restaurants". That’s not the way you treat...

Nice persian restaurant near the Palace. The interiors are nicely decorated in persian theme and tables are set up in white cloths which adds a fine touch. I tried Lamb shank with baghali polo , the portion of meat was so huge that I got to pack the rest. The meat was very tender and well cooked , however my Indian palate wanted more spice and I take the blame for it. Honestly I can't judge how nice it was as I don't know much about the cuisine. My friends had the minced meat kebab with saffron rice which was nice , however the vegetarian dish with aubergine was bit boring for him. There are no options for soy meat or tofu to add to the protein content in the menu which didnot not suit him. We tried a pot of tea to finish off our meal . The staff is very helpful as he explained the menu with lot of patience and helped with suggestions . I would like to come back for trying more from the persian cuisine.

Disclaimer: I've been to Saray probably more than 10 times during the last year and my review is based on the average of my experience there compared to other Persian restaurants. In general, Saray is ok to go and eat there. I find the quality average though. Sometimes the food was really good, sometimes not. Sometimes the staff are very friendly, sometimes not. Sometimes the food is ready within 15-20 minutes, sometimes takes more than 1 hour... It's usually crowded on the weekends so I'd recommend making a reservation, but during the weekdays you could have as many tables as you want. Finding a parking spot could be very tough in the area, no matter when; obviously harder on the weekends. They accept cards and contactless payment.

Food quality is good. We have ordered Dizi and Gheyme and after 45 minutes of ordering I asked the waitress if we are having our food anytime soon and she apologized for totally forgetting our order! We waited 20 more minutes and then Dizi came with no bread! Around 10 more minutes to receive breads. Also having salt and pepper on the table is really normal everywhere but there wasn’t any for us and since we already waited too long for everything else, we didn’t ask that. At the end, just the payment took around 15 minutes too! Could be a nice restaurant for but unfortunately the service is poor. If you’re packed with too many customers and it’s too much work for one person, you need to hire more staff!
