Shawarma Albaik — Restaurant in Berlin

I have been down with this place since 2016, when a Syrian bartender friend of mine was raving again and again about how good the chicken shawarma was. He was absolutely right, here we are 6 years later and my wife and I still eat there religiously, evangelizing the poultry gospel of the garlic Toum sauce to the uninitiated. If you know the deal with them, they've been a work-in-progress the whole time, having at one time two locations (one featuring chicken, the other beef and grill selections). The shish tawouk teller from the Grill-era Albaik shop was absolutely insane, category 5 storm of tasty. Then they stopped the grill and instead tried a beef shawarma / mosabaha + hummus approach to their cooking, which I gotta say was abysmal (The mosabaha from there tasted like chickpeas cooked in tears, AND they refused my request to top my mosabaha with beef shawarma ???). Now in their third iteration and having relinquished the corner shawarma location to Ris-A Chicken, Albaik 3.0 features both chicken and beef shawarma, + a variety of sandwiches (which, I lament confessing to you, dear reader, I haven't tried). The main issue with this place is how they've structured the order / pick-up system - the areas are basically on top of each other and are customer nightmare, but upon our last visit there was a man acting as maitre-D who cleaned our table, called out all the numbers and also guided guests to free seating! Give this man a tip for his excellent service! The chicken here remains perfection! 10 outta 5 stars! Eating Albaik once a week never...

The food is really bad and full of oil. We didn't finish our food since we felt sick after eating it, because of all of the oil and greaae in it. The place is so dirty and they don't clean their tables. The service is the worst, the staff fights with eachother and they treat the customers in the worst way ever. They get triggered if you ask them to clean a table or provide you any service(or even if you ask for the drinks that you paid for...). The atmosphere is also so bad, really loud music that doesn't Genuinely represent the culture behind the food, but represents the taste of the employees. DON'T EVER GO THERE WASTE OF...

Positive (pros)

1. food was really good i was surprised how much you get for 15 euros, 2 people can eat till the stomach is bursting. Negative (cons)
2. the owner is an extremely rigid and rude. I would actually never wanna go back because of him. He wont think twice before humiliating you in-front of a crowd. Rest of the people are really nice.
3. the toilet was extremely dirty. I mean wet toilet papers everywhere with dust caked into most of the edges.

Conclusion I really feel sorry that this restaurant is in the leader ship of such an incompetent and...
