Barettino BAR — Restaurant in Berlin

My rating goes mostly because of the staff. We went on an evening where there were only 5 more tables having dinner so I figured things would be nice. We ordered some drinks and we got told bruschettas were for free since it was not yet dinner time (I didn't mind because I'm not a huge fan) . I ordered a mix of " hams, cheese, olives, bread and BUTTER" and got everything but the butter. When I bring this up to the waitress, she comes 10 minutes later with MARGARINE...seriously? In the meantime, more tables were arriving and getting their bruschettas for free and since I was hungry I asked for ours, and of course the waitress forgot to ask for them. The Pasta was warm/ish and we left feeling super frustrated because the place has great potential but if the staff can't manage to work properly on a half empty restaurant, there's not much "good food" can make up for...

I really used to love this place. Me and my friends were regular here: food was authentic and well prepared, staff was friendly and attentive: it felt a bit like home to us. Then, about a year ago something happened: staff turnover became ridiculously fast, many people left, quality and service dropped. After a few repeated but disappointing attempts, we deserted the place. Yesterday after a long time, I decided to give it a last chance (just in case): well, I waited 30 minutes to get an espresso, and I could notice that things got even worse in the meantime. So sorry, but if you don’t do something about your staff management, you are just ruining it all. Thinking that people will fall inside your bar by chance just because you are in hipster Neukölln won’t help, as you will in any case lose all your regular customers....

Avoid this place. I ordered a spaghetti with octopus for 16 euros. It took them 30min, the service was super slow and rude, they forgot orders… and not to mention I had 2 VERY THIN & THINY slices of octopus (for comparison: it was the size of a bee) with a bunch of noodles. This was insulting to mention this plate has octopus. I felt scammed. The rest of the table got a ragu spaghetti which had no meat and some cheese plate… all very poor quality for what you pay. I would not recommend this place as there are so many other nice ones in Berlin. It’s an insult!!!! Don’t charge 16 euros if you are not going to put octopus and don’t put on the menu it has octopus!!!! Not to mention the wine that was watered down!!!! Pls stop being such a cheap place!!!
