I honestly can't figure out how this got so many good online reviews. Something is clearly fishy here :O I've been there twice - the first time was in 2014 when they just opened; the second time was a few days ago. Til now I've had only unpleasant experience.

The taste was below-average and the portion was super tiny for the price you paid. Apart from that the waitress (as i had only been served by her within these 5 yrs so i assume she is the owner?) was EXTREMELY grumpy and unfriendly. And if you dare to ask anything - for example "what's the ingredient" - Be prepared - she will definitely roll her eyes in annoyance and give you a funny look with "tsk tsk" sound - how nice :D

I would not recommend this. 1 star for the Canton-pop songs (by Sammi Cheng) they played in...

Msg-free authentic Hong Kong food. The server-owner was friendly, though I can see why some people may think she is a bit cold towards Cantonese or Chinese speaking customers; I guess she wants to make sure German locals do not feel excluded? But anyway, the main thing is the food, which is more than acceptable. The clay pot rice is above average by HK standard and it got some crispness that I didn’t expect outside of Hong Kong. I must say the rice needs more seasoning since the soy sauce is a bit too thin in taste, but the mushroom and chicken were well-seasoned. I also like the fact that they play Cantonpop as background music. The bus stop decoration outside the store plus the Hong Kong skyline in the background also made it clear that this is a restaurant with a Hong Kong heart. Great food with some very special options too! Everything very fresh, served sizzling-hot and at a very good speed, with the kitchen very well coordinated and with very nice music contributing to the whole ambience. I loved the pork belly, the chicken legs, the Aubergine hotpot. Besides the food they also have delicious chai and a very special bamboo spirit Schnaps. Excellent service!! I felt so much welcomed and warm-hearted celebrating my birthday with friends there, the person running the place is the sweetest and most professional I’ve found in a restaurant in this city! It was my first time at Tak Kee and I’ll definitely be back for the food the service the drinks the music the atmosphere! I’m keeping it on the list of my top favourite places...
