THE PASSION — Restaurant in Berlin

The place was pretty much empty at 10am on Sunday but we waited a bit, we left at 11.20am. Wouldn't order if we didn't come to the counter ourselves because service wasn't keen on coming. Couple of friends who came later waited for half an hour. I wanted to eat vegan and I had trouble ordering something for myself. Paid 12eur for two small toasted bread loafs with plain unspiced smashed avocado and a cherry tomato with some rucola on the side ugh. Croissant with marmelade 4eur. Plus a coffee. Altogether we paid 78eur for 4 persons and were rather disappointed. Also they didn't take any card payment and we didn't get a receipt, when we asked about it we heard that it would take too much time because there was a lot of clients to serve which I found quite outrageous. Our friends who came later and paid for themselves almost got charged twice for an extra egg but luckily checked...

Wir waren zum Frühstück dort und hatten vorher online einen Tisch reserviert. Als wir ankamen, waren draußen, wo wir sitzen wollten, alle Tische besetzt. Wir haben dann die Bedienung kontaktiert, die zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch freundlich war und uns bat, ihr kurz Zeit zu lassen, das zu klären. Für uns natürlich kein Problem, aber leider passierte nichts, alle Gäste blieben sitzen bis wir uns dann selbst einen Platz organisierten. Irgendwann nach einer sehr langen Zeit konnten wir dann bestellen und haben dann noch sage und schreibe 1Stunde und 15 Minuten auf unser Essen gewartet. Auf unsere Nachfrage, wie lange es noch dauert, kam keine Antwort. Die Bedingung wirkte komplett überfordert, von Freundlichkeit keine Spur. Das Essen und auch der Kaffee waren wirklich lecker, aber die Wartezeit und auch die sehr überforderte Art der Bedienung brauche ich nicht wieder. Sorry, es gibt andere gute Frühstückslokations in Berlin, das gebe ich mir nicht ein zweites Mal. Sehr ärgerlich und für mich absolut unverständlich, woher die ganzen guten Bewertungen hier kommen. Ich hatte mich auf den Aufenthalt dort wirklich...

Lovely place with delicious EggDrop Brioche (my favorite!).

The only thing is the seating situation with three people. We were seated at a two person table, which wasn’t enough room for all plates and drinks.

We were allowed to sit at a four person table after asking, but the owner didn’t seem to be too amused by it.

Still it’s worth 5 stars for me,...
