We tried hot pot with 4 different soups. It was very good. Soups taste amazing. Also they have a huge variety of different ingredients that are authentic, and that you could find also in a menu in Chinese restaurants in China. I like how they serve food. Design: waiters told me, that design is like in ancient china. Personally I haven't been to the hot pot restaurants with this kind of design in China. So it was the first time for me. And it was also sth new for me and cool to try out in Berlin. Waiters: service is very nice and very high level. Waiters are very come and read to help with the choice. They are also very kind and will explain everything about the food. Menu: I think restaurant has done a really good job with a menu. For people, who had never tried hot pot before, there is an instruction with a detailed instructions in English how to eat it. You could also find pictures of some dishes with uncommon names in Europe, to help people to get the idea about what are they ordering. Also, bringing the paper and marking with a pencil ✏️📝 ingredients for dishes is very authentic and in many hot pot restaurants in China you would get the same kind of menu. So it's very nice and cool. And I'd definetly give 5 stars for this. This makes me feel like in China. Hot pot itself: First of all, it's much more than just super good. Secondly, waiters are taking care about the food and they are checking if you have enough water in the soup. They are also coming and bring more water to the soup, if it finishes. Thirdly, as I mentioned before ingredients are very authentic. It's very hard to buy many of them in Europe. So the restaurant has done ...again....a very good job 👍🏻 👍🏽 👍🏻👍🏼👍🏿 also, I do love their meat 🍖🥓 that is in spices. It takes amazing.
Conclusion: I would love to go to this place again. And try 4 soups one more time. Because everything with these soups tastes amazing.
P.S. Hot Pot is a Chinese Fondue ( simple explanation for people, who can't get idea 💡 what Hot Pot 🍲 is). Go and watch some videos on YouTube. And don't worry, you can order a not spicy soup, so it will be completely okay for you. Hot Pot is a thing really for everyone. You can even have a vegetarian Hot Pot and it is also...
Read moreThis was our second visit, last time it was okay but this time the staff was rather unattentive and we had to call for someone several times to order and get what we need. The portions for a group of four are ridiculous, especially compared to the rather high prices for everything. For example we paid 3,80€ for one simple packet of storebought packaged Ramen and also the dips for the table are 2,50€ per Person but you seem to get the same amount either way,so for a party of four you pay 10€ for a tray of six little dishes of sauce/chopped aromatics, but for two people you'd pay 5€ and get those very same dishes. This was our second visit (last time with two people, now with four) and this time we only ordered two broths instead of four and they felt rather watered down compared to last time, as if the amount of flavoured stock is set for the 1/4 compartment of the broth tray and if someone wants just two broths they just water it down to fill 1/2 of the tray. Also if you get asked by staff to refill your broth tray again I'd recommend to decline because they just top it off with more water,so you'll lose the built up flavour you got from cooking ingredients. As I mentioned our last visit with two people was nice enough to come again, but with double the people it felt like everything stayed the same (portionwise) and we are just inclined to order more different things and/or double portions to not leave hungry. Overall the experience was disappointing and we will probably not come again.
Answer to owner's answer: You added bone broth to our vegan soup stock? Seriously? Also the restaurant was like 2/3 full...
Read moreWe made reservations for the separate table at the back on a weekend night at 20:00. The place was comfortably bright, airy and with a welcoming ambient. Although full, the spacing between the individual tables allowed for a sense of enough privacy. The recommendation of 4-7 dishes per person includes, next to the meat, also the vegetables and mushrooms. For the average meal, 5 is probably perfect. Since we were finding it difficult to make up our minds about all the great sounding foods, we decided, for the 3 of us, to order the various offered baskets (meat, veggi, mushroom) and 4 broths: tomato, mushroom, ox, and chili (we got the mild chili which still was fire hot even for our chili lover at our table, so please be mindful of how long you let the chilis steep in the pot). All ingredients were market fresh and most pleasingly presented in individual baskets - and they were definitely not skimping either! Unless you are a very big eater, this is a huge quantity of food (We could easily have fed a fourth person), but every bite of it is worth it.
The deduction of one star, not made lightly and rather unfortunate, goes to the service. Although very friendly the service did leave some space for improvement. This was our first time here, and we were not instructed about how to best go about "making" our meal (we had to ask), nor did they give us a hint about the above mentioned chili broth. Also, perhaps because we were sitting at the, with drapes separated table, we had to seek out the service ourselves repeatedly.
This was definitely a fun adventure and...
