I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tzom, an exquisite Eritrean restaurant, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with the warm aroma of spices that transported me to the heart of Eritrea. Whether you're familiar with Eritrean cuisine or trying it for the first time, Tzom offers the perfect setting to explore the flavors of this vibrant culinary tradition.
Now, let's talk about the food – it was simply outstanding! Each dish was a celebration of Eritrean flavors, expertly prepared with traditional spices and fresh ingredients. From the savory injera bread to the aromatic stews every bite was a taste sensation that left me wanting more.
I particularly recommend trying the vegan platter, which was bursting with flavor and sure to satisfy even the most discerning palate. The cocktails are also fantastic!
To top it all off, the service at Tzom was exceptional. The staff was friendly, attentive, and eager to share their knowledge of Eritrean cuisine, enhancing the overall dining experience.

There are some interesting restaurants in Berlin which offer the food you don't always get to try. TZOM is a great example of this, being one of the few Eritrean restaurants in Germany. And it's a good one! Dining experience is authentic, they do offer optionally cutlery, but the food can be easily eaten the traditional way which is using the hands.
Menu is nice with many classic Eritrean dishes. Really liked the cooking with well balanced and well spiced foods. Portions are quite large and are perfect for sharing. Some nice wines on the menu too and even an Eritrean beer which is not special as such but nice to try.
Staff is great, friendly and helpful. Will definitely return...

Not only were the portion sizes large, everything we tried tasted incredible and the waitress was super attentive and friendly. The mixed platter for 1 was great to try out a few different flavours, the fatta was a huge portion and my personal favourite was the deep fried bread strips with minced meat and yogurt, definitely a must-try here!
I've never had Eritrean food (or anything similar to it even) before, can safely say it's definitely worth checking out! We ended up paying about 51 euros in total, for the amount of food we got I'd say you can't ask for much...
