FOOD & DRINKS I had a piece of the “Milchmädchen” cake and it was pretty good.

SERVICE I had a staff member who talked to a couple even though I was the first in line and then ignored me afterwards. Usually a reason for me to turn around and leave. The young girl (she had a crown braid with some flowers in it) who helped me out was very cute and friendly though.

ATMOSPHERE Super cozy and charming. Love it.

RATING Usually this is an easy five star for me but I can’t overlook that one incident. What I can do though is to give out a recommendation for this café. I will come back and hope I get a nice staff member right...

The service here is in a very low quality politely said. 40 minutes wait and they couldn't even manage to take our order. We were sitting in the front of the bar, they knew we were waiting but they didn't care... When we asked the waiter again to take our orders she said she would take it in 5 minutes... and guess what? Nothing happened! If you have a choice I highly recommend Café Mascha 3 minutes far away from this...

Ich habe vor meinem Besuch extra angerufen, um nach zwei Plätzen zu fragen und mir wurde zugesichert, dass dies kein Problem sei, wenn ich in ca. 10 bis 15 Minuten eintreffe. Als ich jedoch nach etwa 10 Minuten dort war, war der Laden restlos überfüllt, sogar mit einer Schlange im Eingangsbereich. Auf meine Nachfrage hin, dass mir telefonisch zwei Plätze zugesagt wurden, erhielt ich lediglich ein lapidares „Oh sorry, wenn ihr noch Zeit habt, könnt ihr ja ein Momentchen warten, bis was frei wird.“

Fehler passieren natürlich, aber ich hatte den Eindruck, dass das Personal aufgrund des Andrangs vor Ort überfordert war und meine Kritik nicht gerade willkommen war. Die Atmosphäre im Café war alles andere als gemütlich – es fühlte sich eher wie ein überfülltes Nebeneinandersitzen an, bei dem man kaum sein eigenes Wort verstand. Am Ende haben wir uns dann nach einer Alternative umgeschaut.

Das ist schade, denn bei einem früheren Besuch hatte ich dort Kuchen gegessen und war sehr zufrieden. Das Essen und vor allem der Kuchen waren wirklich lecker, weshalb ich in diesem Punkt definitiv eine positive Bewertung abgeben möchte. Ich hoffe daher, dass es sich bei diesem Erlebnis um eine Ausnahme...
