Café Safran — Restaurant in Bochum

We went for lunch at the Cafe and immediately received a very warm welcome from the owner. The first impression we got was of a homely environment with friendly people around. The menu is not too cluttered and has some choiceful Persian delicacies. There was no hurry to order and the host was kind enough to suggest to us the dishes we could order. The food arrived on the table without much ado and it smelt and looked delicious. The food tasted equally good, with perfectly cooked rice which was well balanced with flavour and butter and well marinated meat roasted to perfection. The host checked on us to ensure we enjoyed our meal and after we finished, offered us complimentary desserts too. Beautiful family-run restaurant tucked away in a side street. The menu is small but carefully selected so that we were still spoilt for choice. We went for the Bademjun Polo and the chicken in walnut sauce - both were delicious! The owners are super sweet - we even got a second serving of the precious tadique rice and some ice cream at the end. Will be back to try...

Maybe one of the best option for food in Bochum. The persian food is absolutely excellent, vegetarian options as delicious as the meat ones.
