The service was very friendly but extremely slow. We had to ask twice if the food was coming and it took over an hour. They seemed critically understaffed.
I got lamb saagwala and samosas. There was zero spice in the saagwala, and it was completely flavorless. The samosas were like rocks and basically inedible. The naan was also burnt to a crisp, it seemed like most things had been left in the oven too long. Overall, extremely disappointing food.
I would've sent it back but we'd already walked 10k and the slow service meant I was so hungry I would've eaten anything at that point. I don't know if they are trying to tone things down due to the local palette, but this was the most disappointing meal I've had in a long time.
Ultimately I think they need to be faster. A nearly 2-hour wait for food is unacceptable. The ingredients are extremely fresh and I can see that they do cook things properly, but the food also needs to have actual flavor. Also, please don't leave things in the oven too long. I think the samosas and naan would've actually been nice had they not been rock-hard.
I really hope this was an off-day but too many things were done badly so I'm going to avoid this palce in the future.
Another good point is that they do...
Read moreVery Horrible food. Not a proper restaurant kind of, More like Take away thing. Ate in the restaurant. I think the cook doesn't know how to cook Punjabi dishes. We ordered Dal Makhni, Malai Kofta and Shahi Paneer and 2 Mango Lassi. Dal Makhni wasn't even traditional punjabi dal makhani, they just made masoor daal and presented it as Dal Makhani ( may be German customers wont know) but North Indian foodies will surely knows. In Malaii Kofta, they put some stale ( in hindi we called baasi ) kofta balls, which werent even malai kofta balls as their malai kofta balls were hard and not soft at all which it should be. Also, in Malai Kofta balls when I chew one, I felt some stone inside it and which made noise in my mouth. Paneer was too sweet to be called shahi paneer. The people running the place seems like not happy as they were doing gaap shaap with others, hope the owner should be more concerned about cooking quality. I am giving two stars only because Naan brot was fresh and Mango Lassi...
Read moreWe ate there today, for a late Saturday lunch. The staff was very nice, and the mango lassis were good -- hence the two stars.
The food itself was pretty flavourless -- bhindi paneer masala had four small, hard pieces of paneer and the okra was in a pretty plain tomato sauce, chicken tikka tasted.... strange. The raita was ok.
I used the bathroom while I was there and the steps down to the bathroom, as well as the floor in the hallway near the bathroom, were extremely dirty. I don't know what to say except that -- I hope I will not be sick tonight. They really hadn't been swept in a long time. The bathroom was ok, but I don't know how you can keep a restaurant...
