My experience was less than satisfactory. Here's a review highlighting some of my aspects:
Firstly, the food quality and quantity did not meet expectations, especially considering the price. The dishes were not only expensive but also lacked the depth of flavor and portion size that I would anticipate for the cost. It felt like we were paying more for less.
Secondly, the taste of the food was disappointing. Many of the dishes seemed to have a similar gravy base, resulting in a lack of distinctiveness between different menu items. The flavors were not as authentic or as delightful as one would hope for in an Indian restaurant.
Thirdly, the service was notably poor. Our table was missing basic cutlery, and despite requesting it, it took a long time for them to bring them over. Additionally, one of the classic accompaniments to Indian snacks, like pakodas, is chutney, which was not provided at all. This oversight seemed quite surprising and indicative of a lack of attention to detail.
Overall, my experience at this Indian restaurant was disappointing. The combination of high prices relative to the quality and quantity of food, along with lackluster taste profiles and subpar service, leaves much to be desired. It's unfortunate because Indian cuisine, when done well, can be incredibly satisfying and delicious. However, based on this visit, I would hesitate to recommend this particular establishment to others seeking an authentic Indian...
Read moreWe ordered a variety of Indian dishes, including bread. The issues arose when we got the alloo paratha (Potato stuffed Indian bread). This bread tasted very off. We politely mentioned this to the waitress but did not want it to tarnish an otherwise good meal. What followed was bizarre! They took the bread in to the kitchen again and had the chef taste it. They brought it out saying this tastes fine and this is how their German clientele like it. We explained that we understand it is mildly spiced but that that was not the issue. The issue was that the potato had gone bad. All we got was, `'sorry this is how it is supposed to be". The worst thing? We were not even looking for compensation, we just wanted them to know. As we went to pay I thought I would mention the issue one more time. This time more staff members got involved in telling me "tough luck, that's how locals like it". I find it hard to believe that anyone can stomach food that has gone off. A little humility would have helped as I was not looking for any discount or anything of the type. I guess a customer does not know best?
So in short, if you don't want the chef to eat your food and judge your palate (in most restaurants it is surely the other way around), then maybe try...
Read moreSo my order included Chickbeans, Paratha, Naan, Biryani and Chicken Tikka Masala. The only thing I found authentic and that really had the original taste was Chickbeans/ channa. Biryani had nothing to do with Biryani and it was actually a 'Palau' which is another rice dish from Pakistan/ India and the palau rice had chicken pieces which were very dry and normally they are dry if you cook them too long or they were from a day before/ leftover.
Coming to Paratha. It had nothing to do with Paratha. It was actually a Puri - a dough that is fried in loads of oil so it wasn't authentic and i was surprised to see a puri being called a paratha and their are other places in Bonn who actually serve a real Paratha and the same goes for Naan. It wasn't the authentic naan.
Overall I was a disappointed to see a Pakistani restaurant not serving the authentic food except a few items. There are some other places who serve the real authentic food. If the restaurant changes the names and serves the dishes with their original names so the customer know what they are ordering is what they will get, I guess it will be honesty...
