Al Grillo — Restaurant in Bremen

Beyond brilliant. We arrived in Bremen very late, and being hungry struggled to find somewhere open. Al Grillo was closing, but the great people still welcomed us in and freshly cooked us the most amazing pizza's. The food was absolutely delicious and service beyond what we expected. We felt a bit bad, so rushed to finish so they could close. They actually did NOT put any pressure on us to finish, indeed, they could have simply given us takeaway but no, insisted we sit and enjoy. In rushing, my wife left her coat behind. And didn't realise until after we left Bremen. The kind and wonderful people packed and sent he coat to our home address in Poland. I an exchange student from the USA and was visiting Bremen for the weekend, eating alone because my friends were busy with some schoolwork. The staff gave me some free bread, and was incredibly kind otherwise!! The food was great, fun ambiance, nice waiter. I paid my bill and they even gave me some extra wine that they said was tradition. Felt like I was part of the family!! Also, even though my German isn't great they kept speaking it to me rather than swapping to English- thanks for letting me practice! No less than the perfect experience 😊Everything from the welcoming, food, service and atmosphere. This is a family owned business and that is exactly how you will feel at this restaurant. We travelled from Sweden with a dog and they were very kind and attentive with him as well. Highly recommended. Definitely coming back...
