Argana – Marokkanische und mediterrane Küche — Restaurant in Bremen

I might have come at the wrong time (7 pm on Sunday), but yet, my personal experience can be described in just 2 words: quite disappointed. The waitress was unmistakably tired and, probably therefore, pretty unfriendly (not to say rude). Other personnel were altogether worn out. As it turned out they ran out of the ingredients for the dish I wanted, but I really needed to eat, so I ordered a different but relatively similar one: chicken in tagine (instead of calf). The chicken felt like it was cooked at least very early in the morning (if not even yesterday) and either overcooked, or what-else-they-did with poor bird as it should not be that dry if cooked in tagine; stored after that in a fridge and just warmed for me. But barely. Just enough to not taste like frozen. Yet the dish was cold. And they didn't even ask me if I wanted rice or couscous to be added to it. Just threw some defrosted (riffled, which usually means 'processed') french fries in. Dah! The Moroccan tea was served authentically (-ish), but bared a very distant relation to what I had in Tanger and Casablanca. Well maybe it was made according to some traditional recipe from a different part of Morocco. So, well, I had my meal, which I needed, but it really felt like I 'd be better without. Every table gets some bread from the house, very nice, but if the bread is so dry and without any oil or sauce, I think it would be nicer if you don't offer anything. It was a bit weird to have some french fries on top of the tagine, but in general the taste was ok. The wine was quite bad though. I had the feeling that the bottle was opened the day before. And really horrible service! The owner herself is friendly but not all the waiters. It seemed the waiter at our table was very exhausted and didn't want to say a single word to me when I asked for something. Although he did offer me the option of rice or couscous with my tagine, without mentioning that this is not included, and I only saw the extra fee when paying the bill. Not...

Kleines Restaurant, nett gelegen im Bremer Schnoor. Es war Wochenende und dementsprechend gut besucht, wir hatten vorsichtshalber reserviert. Wir wurden dann auch freundlich begrüßt und die Karten gereicht. Eine Vorspeise und zwei Hauptgerichte. Die beiden Hauptgerichte standen nach gefühlten 5 min auf dem Tisch (aufgewärmt?). Die Portionen waren unterdurchschnittlich klein, die Hähnchentajine bestand aus 3 Ministücken Hühnerfleisch sowie ein wenig überkochtes Gemüse. Dazu eine winzige Schale Couscous, vielleicht 2 Esslöffel. Dafür wurden 22 € aufgerufen. Geschmacklich ging es gerade noch in Ordnung, aber für die geringe Menge deutlich überteuert. Ach ja die Vorspeise (mit Käse gefüllte Teigtaschen) wurde vergessen und nach Erinnerung nachgereicht als die Hauptspeise von uns fast aufgegessen war. Insgesamt sehr chaotischer Service, die Chefin wechselt zwischen Küche und Bedienen hin und her und gibt laute Anweisungen an 2 weitere Mitarbeiter, die fast kein Deutsch verstanden und mit der Bedienung überfordert schienen. Zwischendurch kamen Gäste zum Zahlen an die Theke, weil niemand abkassierte, es bildete sich eine Schlange zwischen den Tischen. Dort gab es lautstarke Diskussionen über die Rechnung. Die Sauberkeit der Toiletten war grenzwertig, anstatt Papierhandtücher oder Händetrockner wurde einfach ein Klopapierrolle auf das Waschbecken gestellt. Ein alter Wischlappen lag auf dem Boden. Preis/Leistung ist hier für das anvisierte Klientel nicht ok. Wer gehobene Spezialitäten Gastronomie machen will, muss die Basics erstmal beherrschen. Nicht...
