Restaurant Tendüre — Restaurant in Bremen

Update: I've now visited here a number of times with groups ranging in size from 3 to over 15, and I've had a great experience each time. Thus, I've added the 5th star. I would recommend that most of the meat-eaters in the group chose the same Menü to order. The vegetarians can order vegetarian Meze platters instead of a Menü (and also eat the vegetarian leftovers from the Menüs, of which there is usually a lot, in particular of salad). Just make sure that anyone not ordering a Menü sits on one side of the table, and it works great.

Three of us came in an ordered the Menü 2, which was a 3 course meal. The mezze platter featured a variety of cold dips and warm bread. All were quite good, in particular the red bell pepper cream. The second course was meat and salad. We more or less ignored the salads: there was a platter of lettuce and other veggies and also a mix of raw onions and parsley. We each received out own portion of meat. The grease surrounding the meat bizarrely tasted like pepperoni (not "peperoni" but rather the American pizza-salami), which was actually delicious but just encouraged me to keep dipping the fresh bread in it.

The dessert was served in a cast iron skillet in the middle of the table and appeared to be covered in melted cheese. Now, I've had cheese and fruit platters as dessert, but there is just something about melted cheese that screams savory to me. The dessert ended up being something like a pine nut bread pudding covered in melted cheese. My husband and I found it to be strangely appealing, but the other diner with us was not so pleased. It is certainly something different than the normal for most westerners. In the end, Menü 2 was far too much food. They took away a lot (presumably to throw away), but yet we were still painfully full awhile later. I think next time, we will just order a couple of dishes to split.

I have no complaints about the service. We also received a round of shots when we asked for the check, The decor seemed like it looked better on paper, but that just means that you should get a table by a window with a view of the Wallanlagen.

This is one of these restaurants that lacks competitors, which causes it to grow in popularity. The entrance is the most sketchiest thing i've ever seen, but the interior is quite nice.

The wait(ers/ress) are quite kind, nice introduction and the english languague is quite fine...

Problems (before meal)... The restaurants use a technique to gain more money by refilling drinks and ordering random stuff on the table, this is quite common however... It'll always stand as a negative point.

Second negative is food preparation which took nearly 45 minutes, which is quite forgiving with the way they prepare it, however the starters are quick as usual with quite a nice bread, however there's a little too much salt on the tsataiki and the bread.

Now for the food Well it's a difficult one to say, i am not used to this sort of cuisine, but i'll do my best with the limited food i got to eat.

Lamb The lamb is on the chewier side, it's very juicy, however it's very basic... Salt is lacking but it's fine

Chicken The chicken is quite spicy, lacking flavors except chicken, but i cannot give it any negative feedback due to it being the way this food culture seem to work...

I'll give it a solid 3/5, don't take it too seriously, my ratings is based by many many places i've visited, this is the only place in Breminge i'd actually recommend visitors to eat at due to it's...

We have been there with my family during our visit of Bremen city. I found this place via google comments as well as location to our hotel. Overall, food quality is median, cleanness is average, ambiance is not bad however decoration is outdated, air conditioning was not working despite of higher temperature outside.. Windows were also closed and I opened the one that we sat next to.. Others were followed us.. We ordered Tepsi Kebap (you can do better at home !) and Adana and 2 kinder pizza along with fries and regular drinks for each. What I paid (incl. tip) was not worth that we got. Food quality was definitely not matches with its price as well as service quality (communication, including native language!) however smiley and friendly service guy made our day as he also provided ice-cream for my kids. Thanks to you as my tip was for you not for the restaurant.. Ohh, did I say pricy ? It is, for sure. I still feel that I paid way...
