An interesting beer house and restaurant in Böttcherstrasse. Unfortunately it was rainy and couldn't sit outdoors but the interior was really intriguing with all the old photos on the walls. Surely even more interesting for someone who's closer to history. Totally satisfied with the beer range but I would expect the food to be of higher standards given the prices and the venue. Lack of professionalism. I could not pay my cappuccino with my bank card, which is (apparently) acceptable since it was a small amount. But then, they could have been more helpful in providing information about the nearest ATM, or at least inform the client beforehand that payment under € 10 cannot be realised with a Visa/Mastercard. Those who are not living in Germany/Bremen are not familiar with that «fact». The staff was very unfriendly, and it was a very unpleasant experience. Luckily I found a ATM close by. Am Samstag (13.09.2025) waren wir in der Ständigen Vertretung ganz spontan zum Essen. Mein erstes Mal. Eigentlich wollten wir draußen sitzen weil es 14:30 war und wir das Glockenspiel erleben wollten aber leider fing es an zu regnen und wir sind nach drinnen umgezogen - und das war kein Fehler. Das Ambiente und die Wanddekoration mit den ganzen Fotos der Politprominenz von BRD und DDR waren schon eindrucksvoll. Natürlich ist es sehr laut wenn das Lokal gut besucht ist - aber das gehört dazu. Zu trinken gabs natürlich Kölsch - was sonst. Nachschub gabs nur auf Nachfrage - da sind die Köbes in Köln definitiv schneller. Aber wir sind ja auch nicht in Köln sondern in Bremen. Nun zum Essen: Ich bin Vegetarier. Nur in Ausnahmefällen gibt es bei mir was vom Tier. Und das war so eine Ausnahme. Ich hatte Himmel un Ääd. Zum ersten Mal. Ich kenne ähnliches aus England (Black Pudding, Mashed Potatos, Gravy and Applesauce) aber das ist schon ewig her. Und ich muß sagen: Es war lecker. Die Flönz war gut gebraten und fein gewürzt, der Kartoffelstampf definitiv hausgemacht und der Apfelkompott passte perfekt. Dazu 2 Scheiben gebratener Apfel und viele geschmorte Zwiebeln. Große Portion zum richtig satt werden und dafür (und das Gesamterlebnis) war der Preis auch angemessen (21,90 EUR). Kölsch (0,2) 2,60 (aktualisiert mal eure Preisliste im Internet - da steht noch 2,40). Meine Freundin hatte Bratwurst mit Kartoffelstampf und Sauerkraut und das sah auch ganz gut aus.
