We visited this restaurant today – three kids aged 16, 11, and 8, and two adults – and unfortunately, all of us were disappointed.
The so-called “homemade” tea was very poor. The green tea my son ordered tasted like sugar water with only a hint of actual tea. The homemade lemonade was extremely sour, lacking balance in flavor. None of us could finish our drinks, so we ordered two large colas instead. What we received was room-temperature soda that didn’t taste like Pepsi or Coca-Cola, but a cheap alternative. It had no carbonation at all – it felt flat and old. My son agreed, saying it tasted “off.” Either the dispenser machine was broken, or the cola had gone bad.
As for the food:
We ordered the Mix for Two as a starter, which was acceptable.
The vegetarian sushi mix was okay – the rice wasn’t prepared properly, but it wasn’t terrible.
The regular sushi mix, however, was disappointing. The fish didn’t taste fresh, which is essential in sushi.
The soy sauce was very low quality – overly salty and cheap-tasting.
The wasabi was also fake, lacking the real flavor and punch.
The interior felt outdated, and the tables were sticky, clearly not cleaned properly. We even found leftover rice on my daughter’s fork before we received our food.
I ordered the chicken pho – it was okay, but completely tasteless. My daughter had the salmon, which also lacked flavor.
Yesterday, we ate at a small Vietnamese place in Gunzenhausen and were very satisfied. Today was my birthday, and we had hoped for a higher-quality experience. Sadly, this turned out to be my worst restaurant visit this year – and on my birthday, no less.
The atmosphere was nice and the service was fast and friendly, but that alone isn’t enough.
I cannot recommend this restaurant. I decided to visit because it had so many good reviews, but I honestly don't understand how. I usually never write restaurant reviews, but I felt I had to share our experience – so others won’t be as disappointed as we were.

Read moreDisappointing! Poor Value for Money Being a fan of Vietnamese/Asian food, I was treated for a birthday meal in this restaurant yesterday, which was praised as being good and tasty. Unfortunately that was not my experience. The atmosphere was friendly and we were brought to our booked table in the lower room. The seating arrangement in this area has communal benches along the wall and for those placed there requires some long stretches to get there as one needs to climb over the wide front wooden benches. Not suitable for everyone . . . Regarding the food, I ordered No 57 (Asian coconut curry with tofu, vegetables and rice). It was served very fast, yet the food itself was not hot, simply lug warm. I returned this and asked for a hot dish, which was done. The second time the food was hotter, yet far from what it is advertised and what I expected. There was plenty of tofu in the dish, yet the vegetable consisted out of 4 half courgette pieces !! and the rest ONIONS.!!!! The Thai curry sauce was very sweet and lacked any real flavors which I associate with Vietnamese/Asian cooking e.g. lemongrass, galangal, chilli, kafir lime leaves.... Also the unusual consistency of the sauce, left me also wondering if it is thickened with starch? In addition the sauce/tofu and onions were dished over the fresh salad, which was not a nice presentation, despite being decorated with two stalks of coriander leaves. This dish was a true disappointment and not to be recommended if you are interested in...
Read moreI was given the responsibility to choose a restaurant for taking a group of kids and adults for dinner. We had a peculiar group of food restrictions. Some people who didn't eat Beef, some who didn't eat Pork, some Vegetarians and one who can eat Gluten-free food only. With all these restrictions, I finally chose Ricetime, as it ticked all boxes.
Only after reaching there we realised some of the kids had never eaten Japanese food and didn't know what to chose. So it was a bit of a discovery of the cuisine as well.
The staff were very friendly right from the booking table on the phone, to seating us, being patient in explaining how Sushi was made to some of the newbies. Once the food started to arrive, we were pleasantly surprised by the taste, quality and quantity of the food. It almost made us question whether the prices mentioned were for a plate or for each piece of sushi.
In the end, everyone was happy with the whole dining experience. We ended up giving a good tip to the...
