I arrived at the restaurant looking forward to a tasty African meal, however I left thoroughly underwhelmed and disappointed. When we arrived the restaurant was packed and the food didn’t look bad. We sat down and, when it was time to order, waited 10 minutes trying to attract one of the two waiters in the entire restaurants eye. We ordered the platter and attempted to order a shake, however the waitress suggested to us that it would be better not to as she said it was too busy and would take a while. Why have it on the menu if you cannot order it? Once we had ordered, we waited a solid 1 and a half hours for our food. When it eventually arrived it came in little bowls on a tray. Everyone else who ordered what we had received a large white plate with cutlery. The waitress hinted to us that they had simple run out of cutlery and plates and were waiting for people to finish their meal before they could serve us ours. That is ridiculous for a busy restaurant. This was further shown when the beers were not given to us in glasses. They simply ran out of plates and cups which is why we waited so long, as the food itself wasn’t very complex. We were not given napkins, for a place that sells food which you eat with your hand is rather strange, we were also not given enough injera. The food itself was very poor, with no flavour whatsoever, I felt as if I was eating cardboard. Our friend who had been to Ethiopia said this food was nothing like what she had had. Once we had finished, we waited another 20 minutes for the waitress to come and allow us to pay, and we were shocked as the total cost was over 75 euros. We had no idea what we payed for! Very bad experience. I only give 2 stars as the atmosphere was good. For a restaurant to not have simple things such as plates and cups is honestly...
Read moreI went to this restaurant on a Saturday night service was poor we sat for 45 minutes before someone came to serve us and when they did it was very slow, food took an hour and a half to come to our table, we ordered a communal meal and we were not given plates, cutlery or napkins! I asked the waiter for a shake but I was refused as they said they didn’t have anymore glasses so I ordered a Diet Coke and it didn’t arrive for 20 minutes as they didn’t have glasses, the food was average, no flavour to it, I left the restaurant feeling like I had eaten cardboard, if you want a African experience I record Shaka Zulu down the road as we went there and the quality of food was much better and the service was faster than this place. Would not...
Read moreGrotesque experience! We ordered some dish with lamb. We had to wait more than a hour to get food. When we receive it I asked if it was lamb and the waiter said yes. It definitely wasn’t lamb but beef, so I told the guy and he said that it was ok and we were in an African restaurant and not in a German one. The most important was the atmosphere rather than what I ordered. I told him not to let me pay lamb at least (which was more expensive) but in the bill he wrote lamb anyway. Food is really nothing special. I won’t go there...
