A Greek Meze Paradise Along the Rhein

Our evening by the Rhein River turned into an unforgettable Greek culinary journey. The outdoor setting provided the perfect backdrop for a parade of exceptional mezes that still linger in our memories.

The mixed mousse, tarama, tzatziki and aubergine dips started our feast wonderfully. The beetroot salad with goat cheese created a perfect harmony of flavors, while the eggplant rolls with feta cheese in tomato sauce were quite possibly the most delicious we've ever encountered.

Their homemade vine leaves demonstrated what this classic dish should truly taste like – tender leaves wrapped around fragrant rice with cooling mint yoghurt. The grilled octopus was masterfully prepared, tender and reminiscent of authentic dishes from Greek islands. The fried baby calamari were impossibly fresh and delicate – a true testament to quality seafood preparation.

The Kefalotiri cheese in filo pastry with truffle honey was so delightful that we enjoyed it as both starter and dessert. Two meat dishes surprised us: veal liver with onions and white wine sauce was remarkably soft and juicy, while the rabbit Stifado featured the most tender rabbit we've experienced, delicately spiced with hints of star anise in a rich red wine sauce that left us wanting more.

What elevated the experience further was the attentive yet unobtrusive service. When selecting our third wine, our knowledgeable waiter offered a generous tasting experience, pouring samples of three different wines while expertly explaining the grape varieties and characteristics of each. This personalized attention helped us make the perfect selection to complement our meal.

The casual, cozy ambiance was enhanced by thoughtfully chosen background music that complemented both the Mediterranean cuisine and the flowing river nearby. The rhythm of the evening unfolded naturally as we shared plates, stories, and laughter with friends.

Despite living quite far away, we're already planning our return visit. The combination of exceptional food, riverside setting, and genuine hospitality created a dining experience worth traveling for. Great location and good food. Sometimes service rough

Well, its a great and pricey location. Im not sure if they accept a reservation for the Terrace Area, but its really tricky to get an outdoor table to enjoy the nice Food and lovely view under the sun. But if you are not such a Sun Freak or Sun Worshiper - like Moi- and you have no problem to 'abstain' the sunray on your face, you should try the pretty indoor section out- surely with an opened door for fresh air. Thus, we got a Terrace Table anyhow. :D

On that warm and sunny Spring Weekend, I chose a yummy Duck Breast in Honey-Ginger-Ouzo Sauce with warm Chicorée & Potatogratin (17,50 €). The Sauce & Potato were nice and the Duck war perfectly fried. I cant judge the Chicorée coz I am not a fan at all.

I dont really think that Limani is typical Family Restaurant as it was quite hard to find some Dishes for Kids. Desperately we asked the friendly elderly Man who waited us if they could do a regular Pasta (in Tomatosauce) for our young man and received a big yes.

Our Order (3 Main Courses as we wanted to spend the Coffee Time somewhere else) was brought quite fast eventhough the venue was very busy.
