If you’re craving authentic Mexican food that packs a punch of flavor, this restaurant is absolutely worth a visit. From the moment the food hits the table, it’s clear that this place knows what it’s doing in the kitchen. Every dish we tried was bursting with bold, traditional flavors – from perfectly seasoned meats to fresh, vibrant salsas and handmade tortillas. It’s the kind of food that makes you slow down and savor each bite.
That said, be prepared to spend a bit more than you might at your typical Mexican spot. The prices are definitely on the higher side, but in this case, you truly get what you pay for. The quality of the ingredients, the portion sizes, and the richness of the flavors justify the cost. It’s a splurge that feels earned and satisfying.
One important tip: make a reservation in advance if you can. This place gets busy — very busy. By the time we arrived, there was already a line out the door, and we were lucky to get seated without too much of a wait. The atmosphere is lively and energetic, which adds to the experience, but it can also mean long wait times if you don’t plan ahead.
As for the service, it’s a bit of a mixed bag. The staff isn’t particularly warm or welcoming, and they seemed a bit rushed or inattentive at times. However, they do move fast. Our food came out quickly, and everything arrived as ordered, which was appreciated given how crowded the place was. It’s not the most personable service you’ll ever get, but it’s efficient, and when the food is this good, it’s easy to overlook a few rough edges.
All in all, this is a fantastic spot if you’re looking for high-quality Mexican cuisine that delivers on flavor. Just be ready to spend a bit more, book ahead if possible, and don’t go in expecting five-star hospitality. Go for the food — it...
Read moreI love it! I go here to feel a bit of a piece of home when possible. I don’t go as often as I used to (used to go every week) because unfortunately their price increase seems unreasonable to me and as a real latina I can tell their queso quality has changed and some of their ingredients and portions and taste have changed. They used to give you nachos with real fresh cheese and now they use the generic one. The taste was impeccable. The portions are unfortunately way too small for their price increase. I love it because it is authentic but I’ve started to make my own mexican tortillas and food at home because paying so much for literally just eating 4 small tacos and a drink seems like a Mexican crime. I was not happy about it with it but kept going until I realized their quality has changed. I got my food very cold and not tasty at all last time so now I’ve switched to other Mexican restaurants in Köln. I recommend it to so many people as well and everyone came with the same feedback: delicious but overpriced and their taste and quality has dropped. Hopefully...
Read moreI was born and raised in Los Angeles with access to amazing Mexican food and have spent a lot of time in Mexico… so it’s really exciting to find a place in Köln that makes authentic tacos. Service at the newly opened tacqueria restaurant was slow and not well organized (they opened about a week ago and are still working out the system), prices are on the higher end, but the flavor and authenticity are worth it. Three house sauces are on the table to enjoy unlimited— mango, roja and verde. Tortilla chips and avocado based salsa provided to snack on as we waited 30 minutes for our 12 tacos to arrive (Bistek, carnitas and al pastor). All tacos were well seasoned with a sufficient amount of meat that was juicy. Corn tortillas delicious. It was a good amount of food for two very hungry people for about 40€ including a large bottle of sparkling water. Prime location on the water with outdoor and indoor seating. Margaritas looked awesome. Overall, this place has great potential and we will be back to see how...
