TSUBAKI 椿 — Restaurant in Cologne

TSUBAKI is my favourite restaurant in Cologne! I live just 2 min away and I almost dine there every day. That's how much I love it haha! Their sushi, sashimi and authentic Japanese cuisines are excellent. Their 9€ Mittagsmenü is the most affordable and delicious you can find and pleasantly, comes with hot Matcha tea. Most importantly, the people there are the best and nicest! I am greeted with warm welcome every time going there and every visit delights me. I'm also from Asia and TSUBAKI gives me a sense of home. I would recommend their Dragon Roll (eel), Ten-Ju (Tempura), TSUBAKI/SAKURA sushi, any sashimi and curry with fried chicken but after trying out almost all dishes on their menu I can say basically everything they have is unexceptionally wonderful! I studied here and I'm going back to China next week. I will certainly miss this place and their people and I really look forward to coming back to...

Came here with friends and Tsubaki is a hidden gem that comes highly recommended! Delicious high quality sushi, we were are very satisfied with both the presentation and flavour. We started with tempura - ordering one prawn plate and one with prawns and veggies. Then we had the mixed platter “Tsubaki“ and mixed bowl Chibari - excellent! We chose beer and cold sake taster (3) to complement our meal. For dessert we enjoyed the green tea ice cream (but vowed to come back to try the handmade matcha terrine). What a nice and cute place, where for a couple of hours you might feel like you're in Japan thanks to the kind, friendly service, peaceful ambiente and delicious food.
