Although new, this business displays endless potential, combined with expert service and large street facing windows for a good dose of people watching, and exchanges with passers-by. The energy is that of a sophisticated, Melbourne Cafe which is a stark contrast from the surrounding gastronomy found in the nearby vacinity/region. Anyone who debates price is only reforcing the lack of understanding of what coffee culture and good quality gastronomy is about. Great third wave coffee is few and far between in Germany but in my travels through the quaint town of Detmold I stumbled upon Halbstark. The space is beautiful and fresh, a great place to do work and meet likeminded people. The coffee however is incredible. Nathan and Chris have taken so much pride in their craft to deliver an experience of flavours whether hot or cold using world renowned La Cabra coffee beans and their experience. I can't...

Great coffee and friendly service.

Exactly what I want from a coffee shop. Simple but excellent coffee of either double espresso (3.5 EUR), Flat white (4.5 EUR) or Filter coffee. Great cinnamon swirls too, which excellent spice.

The service was super friendly and it was clearly popular although enough seating for all four of us to sit together on a Friday morning.

Will definitely be back when in Detmold, and by far and away the best coffee...
