Paul Rackwitz - Neue Welt — Restaurant in Dresden

This is the second time we have come here during our 5-week stay showing my Kiwi husband around my hometown. My sister highly recommended the beer garden to us, and as a German, I like beer gardens, but not the Oktoberfest. But spending a hot summer afternoon here is a splendid choice!

The food is plentiful, tasty and filling. And after living almost 20 years in New Zealand and having travelled halfway around the world, I have finally found the perfect crispy and soft kumara fries (Süßkartoffel-Pommes). A real surprise!!! There is also a great selection of drinks ... you should try the grapefruit Radler for a refreshing treat.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place! The wine was a little overpriced (at least in comparison to other similar places) but it was good and the menu was exciting and had more variation than other beergartens. Staff was very friendly! I was a bit disappointed in the ice cream I ordered for my daughter. It was mango/vanilla. There was no taste of mango in the ice cream and so I looked on the on the ingredient list and mango wasn’t even listed. The overpowering taste was in fact jasmine. That’s odd. I realise it’s not the fault of the beer garden as they don’t make the ice cream there but I would suggest ordering your ice cream from somewhere else? Still we will come back. It’s one of the better beer gardens...

Für meine Kritik gilt: Ich habe lediglich meinen Besuch bei Ihnen geschildert. Ohne Sie schlecht machen zu wollen. Eine gute Performance bekommt von mir auch eine gute Bewertung. Eine schlechte Leistung bewerte ich auch entsprechend. Wenn Sie sich eine gute Bewertung wünschen, sollten Sie daher Ihre Leistung an dem Tag hinterfragen.

Offensichtlich hat ein anderer Gast den Besuch in Ihrem Biergarten ähnlich empfunden. Dies sollte Ihnen zu denken geben. Falls Sie mit der Kritik von P. B. unzufrieden sind, wenden Sie sich bitte an diese Person. Nicht an mich! Schöner, kleiner Biergarten. Die Speiseauswahl ist super. Jedoch geschmacklich nur als "okay" zu bewerten; keine liebevolle Zubereitung.

Ich hatte eine Brezel mit Butter und dazu Käsewürfel mit Oliven. Die Brezel war etwas trocken. Die dazu gereichte Butter stand leider schon zuvor so lange draußen, dass sich das Fett schon im Schälchen absetzte, als mir der Teller gereicht wurde. Bei extremen Temperaturen hätte ich dafür durchaus Verständnis. Bei 26 Grad allerdings nicht! Die Portionsgröße der Oliven war ausreichend. Allerdings schwamm der Käse und die Oliven 2 cm tief in der Oliven-Lake.

Das Radler war sehr "dünn" gemischt und hatte einen deutlich größeren Limo-Anteil, als Bier. Schätzungsweise 70 : 30.

Das gelingt anderen Biergärten deutlich besser. Insgesamt ist mir das keinen zweiten...
