Let me start by saying that we love URBEAN. It has a cool vibe, good food and great coffee! We’ve been going since it first opened in Neustadt.
So what’s the issue? The issue lies in the ability to serve customers adhoc. This should be a staple for any restaurant. The inability for a place to serve walk-ins is telling of the staff and their abilities.
This was the second time this week we visited, only to be told we couldn’t be served due to being “fully reserved” despite the place being over half empty. The only area that was full-ish was the terrace. We looked at the tables inside and none of them said “reserved”. This was super frustrating seeing as we came with 2 kids and everyone was very hungry.
A restaurant should be able to handle both, reserved and walk-in customers. If a restaurant isn’t able to accommodate a full house, or starts dropping the ball when walk-ins show up, it should probably consider...
Read moreWe arrived at the place a bit late due to the rain. When we got there, we found out they had given our table to someone else, even though we had a reservation. Instead of offering a quick solution, we spent 20 minutes arguing with the staff, who insisted there was no way to seat us — even though there were clearly empty tables.
To make matters worse, the system allowed us to make another reservation for a later time because it showed availability, which turned out to be false.
We were finally seated at 3:15 PM, only to be told that we could no longer order food because the kitchen had closed at 3 PM. The only option was to have cake, which was incredibly frustrating considering the lost time was entirely the restaurant’s fault, not ours.
The experience was a disaster — from the service to the reservation management. We won’t be coming back and definitely do not...
Read moreI have read all the other negative reviews and I can only agree to them. If you drop by without a reservation (which I do not consider anything shocking to do when going into a Caffè), you are met with hard-to-understand mumbling, overseeing, and rejection in a half-empty place. After you are told (or mumbled upon) that there is no way you can order food because you have no reservation, the serving person just leaves. When you are lucky enough to catch the personnel (which is a challenge on its own), and made them to listen to your question (another challenge) whether you could have just a coffee and cake, you have to decipher her answer, you are just left handing in the middle of the room, because the service is gone already. Well... After that we gave up and went elsewhere where we actually were able to spend our money... What an absolutely...
