Finkenkrug — Restaurant in Duisburg

Alright, so in the year of our lord, two thousand and twenty-three, they still DO NOT ACCEPT CARD PAYMENT. This is an issue that is NOT made adequately clear on their website (if at all). Fortunately we saw this on their door, however the two nearest ATMs are both 650+ m away and we had to join our group 15 min later than planned.

They offer a large selection of drinks. The food itself was of good quality and fair price, however I do wish they had a larger selection of cheaper options. It was not busy when we went and food came really quickly. we can recommend the potato basket, the holzfeller burger, and beyond meat burger.

The bathroom however, was unpleasantly dirty. The soap dispenser was empty. We asked it be refilled, the staff agreed, however an hour later it was still empty. The floor was also quite nasty.

In conclusion, the food & drinks was great, but the service did not...

My favourite bar in Duisburg! They have more than 250 types of beers to choose from, the staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is great! You see mostly young people here since its so close to the Uni Duisburg Essen, would definitely recommend it as a spot to chill with friends on the weekends! The food is a little expensive for a regular students budget (not if theyre a little drunk!) but is fresh and super delicious! Theyve got a beer for everyone's tastes and budget, whether you like fruity stuff or aged and bitter beer, from germany or european countries to local beers from countries like india! Durch und durch perfekt. Alle Mitarbeitenden sind so unfassbar freundlich, sodass ich mich auch einfach freue zu kommen, um den netten Service zu empfangen. Man bekommt das Gefühl, dass das Arbeitsklima intern auch wirklich gut ist. Für Alkoholtrinkende ein wahres Paradies & ebenfalls für nicht - Alkoholtrinkende wird man immer fündig bei der Auswahl. Die Kellner können einem meist was empfehlen oder man spielt Roulette auf der Karte mit den tausenden Sorten an Bier. In der Wintersaison ist der Kneipenquizabend Montags sehr zu empfehlen. Stimmung ist top. Essen ist top. Bei gutem Wetter in der Sommersaison ist der Biergarten geöffnet und hin und wieder gibt's zu bestimmten Anlässen Partys. Für diejenigen, die spät am Abend, wenn die Küche schon geschlossen ist, nochmal ein kleines Hüngerchen kriegen, wird man auf der Speisekarte noch Speisen finden, die man abends bestellen kann - auch die sind wärmstens zu empfehlen, auch wenn die Küche noch geöffnet ist🤓 Die Wochenkarte wechselt regelmäßig & ist meist an ein bestimmtes Thema angepasst. Auch das Frühstück am Wochenende ist wärmstens zu empfehlen. Ich wüsste wirklich nicht, was man am Finkenkrug auszusetzen hat und die Tatsache, dass der Finkenkrug schon ewig existiert, unterstreicht die Annahme noch mehr ☺️ Alle Stammkunden können das auf jeden Fall bestätigen!
