König-Haus — Restaurant in Duisburg

A great "local watering hole", in the best sense of the words. Regulars come there to play cards, tradefolk come here with their business partners to have relaxed dinner after done-deals, tourists come to eat genuine German cuisine, and the staff keeps their humor even in busy hours. It is foremost a bar, but it is impressive what comes out of that small kitchen.

The selection is limited, but what is served - food and drink both - is quality. We had Schnitzel, both with "Jägersauce" and Vienna (veal instead of pork) and both this and the dessert...

Great Schnitzel, great service and very reasonably priced. I love coming here. You should definitely try the "Schnitzel Zigeuner Art". Usually ppl use a convenience product for the sauce but this is really special. Don't expect a great selection of beverages, though. You get plenty of beer and the usual softdrinks but...

Ich muss sagen was man sich hier am letzten Freitag geleistet habt, ist eine Frechheit...wir hatten die Kegelbahn...12.80 für zwei mickrige TK Schnitzel entsprachen nicht der Beschreibung der Bedienung "Asthma" oder so, man würde ein Rieeeesen Schnitzel bekommen. Dazu noch die paar mickrigen Bratkartoffeln und der Salat wo man einfach nen Becher Sahne draufgekippt hat. Es gibt Pommesbuden, in denen man für deutlich weniger Geld ein selbstgeklopftes Schnitzel bekommt. Und dann sich auch noch rausreden mit "iss doch so voll heute"...ja nicht mein Problem. Einmal haben wir nur ein Wasser bestellt, da sagt die Bedienung "nee für ein Wasser komm ich nicht runter"...ich fall vom Glauben ab. Der Knaller war aber, dass wir auf der Rechnung 8 Dirty Harry hatten, die wir weder bestellt geschweige denn getrunken haben...ist mir leider erst am nächsten Morgen aufgefallen. Hier ist der Gast der letzte Rotz aber König ganz bestimmt...
