Let's start with the positive: the interior is nice, the coffee is quality, the wait time is short, the waitress was very friendly (she said hello to everyone who came in; remember, she was the only one dealing with the seated customers, she was the only friendly one, and she is probably just a student. Unfortunately, I didn't ask for her name, but I think she's from the Middle East; in any case bravo to her!)
But overall, I was a bit disappointed. The kitchen forgot to add the smoked salmon to the toast with scrambled eggs and truffle oil (the salmon being the main ingredient). I asked for a glass of water, which was not brought. But most importantly: the friendliness of all other staff was worth 0 out of 10. No smiles, no eye contact with customers, no effort to speak English (‘no cash’ is all the man at the counter could say). The boss and his wife are influencers on Facebook, and I think the boss would have been friendly if he were there, but his wife was there, and she was absolutely not friendly; she didn't even care!
Anyway: food and drinks were value for money (nothing special but also not so expensive), but the service was very poor, apart from the young waitress. And in the end, the guy at the counter asked me if I wanted to add a tip ... maybe if you would give me a smile I...
Read moreBeen there because of what I saw on social media. Nothing special, just overhyped. I guess it was the owner, seemed aloof, acting like a celebrity, not paying attention. I sat in front of the bar, sipping my coffee, waiting for my breakfast. I noticed the girl wasn't even washing the fruits and vegetables, just taking them out of the packaging. People usually wash strawberries with vinegar and soda to get rid of dirt and bacteria, but they didn't even wash them with water, just took them out of the packaging. I saw many things that made me never want to go there again, like the girl grabbing mozzarella from its water with bare hands (no gloves), using dirty knives (cutting tomatoes, putting the knives in a bucket of water, and then using the same knives to cut fruits).Anyone sitting in front of the bar can see this. Then I went to sit at a table, waiting there. Suddenly, many people started coming. The long line we saw on social media isn't because it's a great place. It's because of its location near big companies where people come for a midday break. The coffee was also nothing special. The dishes they serve on were scratched and old I'll never go there again. Really...
Read moreThis place is really nice and a real charm in the center of the business area of dusseldorf but I was expecting something a bit more. We were in the city for 2 days and in a search of good coffee spot after a long flight I saw that Dritan's coffee place is in town so we decided to come for a bit relaxing time. First of all I must say that this place is really amazing. Dritan has an enormous coffee machine collection spread over the coffee shop. The service was great and we decided to order cappuccino and Cortado with a some cake on the side. Anyway, the coffee was OK but I was expecting better. for a world known batista I would expect a higher level of coffee. Maybe it's because Dritan himself was not there to make the coffee, not sure. The vegy milk was too foamy and not dense as good stimmed milk should be, and the coffee blend himself wasn't perfect with the drink I chose. maybe it's me, I'm not sure, but I'm used to different level of coffee in my hometown, and usually drink almond milk that stimmes perfectly just like regular milk.
All in all the coffee was pretty good, service amazing and the view of the all the coffee machines was just making this...
