On a whim, we dined here last week and we were not disappointed! Without a doubt the BEST service I have experienced in Germany. Warmly greeted and seated swiftly. Super comfortable seating; fantastic mood lighting; nice spacing between patrons ensuring either a cosy private (or romantic) dinner for 2 or ample space for a group without encroaching on other diners. Beautifully set tables eagerly tended to. Once you have ordered through the easy to read menu, in English and German, sit back and relax - everything else will be taken care of. From topping up your glass of wine, to clean cutlery with each course, the serving you rice, these guys did not miss a beat. The food was lovely but it's not the best Thai we've had. I'll give 4 🌟 here - nicely presented but the flavours could have been elevated with a little more spice. We could not taste the difference in heat from one dish to another. The fish cakes were ok, but we were wondering why they were coated in panko breadcrumbs? The dipping sauces needed more punch to them too. We had been looking forward to enjoy authentic Thai food for a while after booking a table at Lay Thai. The place was fairly busy already at 6:30pm. We chose a green papaya salad to share and two main courses. Grapao beef and Grapao squid. All three dishes were far from exciting. Green Papaya salad lacked chili, shrimp powder and so much taste. For the price the portion was tiny. The "crispy squid" was battered and stir fried, which was not described in the German part of the menu. Only in the English part which I didn't see. In the center of each squid there was batter which was not cooked. An unpleasant feeling. The beef Kra Pao was OK, but far from Thai spicy. The fried egg which I would expect to follow a dish like this was missing. 80€ for an experience like this is way overpriced. Service was very friendly and efficient. However I don't like to have rice put on my plate when I might start out with eating the salad. It's meant as a gesture of service and kindness, but it's just...

Ich habe meinen Geburtstag dort gefeiert. Vom ersten Telefonat bis zum Abschied war alles TOP. Das Restaurant ist sehr sauber und wirklich schön Thailändisch eingerichtet. Man merkt direkt, dass hinter diesem Konzept viele Gedanken gemacht worden sind. Die Kellner/in waren alle sehr nett und höflich und professionell.

Wir hatten sehr viele verschiedene Gerichte. Von Vorspeisen bis hinzu gebratene Gerichte und Dessert. Die Qualität der Gerichte war wirklich 1A. Man merkt, dass hier auf gute Qualität geachtet wird. Die Kellnern/in waren immer am Tisch und haben immer nachgeschenkt, sodass die Gläser immer voll waren und haben immer, nachdem rechten gefragt. Auch als der Kellner beim Einschenken ausersehen ein Glas mit Wasser verschüttet hat. Er hat sich mehrmals entschuldigt und direkt den Tisch / Tischdecke neu gemacht neue Getränke geholt und für den Gast einen kostenlosen Cocktail gebracht.Während des ganzen Abend bis ich gegangen bin hat er sich mehrmals entschuldigt. Solche Situation passieren nun mal, aber das wiedergutmachen war einfach toll. Sehr guter Service!

Alle meine Gäste waren mit dem Service und Qualität Top zufrieden. Auch am Ende haben wir heiße Handtücher bekommen, um die Hände abzuwischen.

Das Preissegment befindet sich für diese Qualität und Service in einem TOP Segment. Preisleistung stimmt zu 100 %. Viele Restaurants sollten sich hier ein Riesen-Stück abschneiden, wie man mit Gästen umgeht. Wir haben auch etwas länger gesessen als reserviert und hoffe, dass es für den Besitzer keine Umstände war.
