Had a horrible eating experience. The Service staff was very unfriendly and arrogant. Paneer pakoda is not made by Paneer(Indian Home Made cheese). We left the food. Waitress did not even care to ask why we did not eat it. Other than this i ordered lamb which was good. When i was about to pay i asked if this was Paneer. The waitress started arguing and saying this is real Paneer and they make it on their own. I told her this is not real Paneer. She Said No this is real paneer.I asked why it is rubbery, to which she Said there is too much Work in kitchen and If Milk stays For long it becomes like this.Than she Said then you know more than me and Just left. I Had a Bad experience and am Sure will never go there again even If lamb was Not Bad ( i would give it 7/10). Really Bad experience. Indian food is my Passion. I Cook a lot myself and have made Paneer hundreds of time and someone telling you that the dish you are eating For 30 years and have eaten thousands of times is not right and their way Iis corect is not acceptable. Had she Just told me i am sorry you did not like it, but we make it this way it would have been...
Read moreI recently dined here , unfortunately the overall experience wasn’t good. The food served here lacked authentic Indian taste.
I tried the Lamm Madrasi and chicken Tikka masala. The spice levels are pretty good. That is the only one good thing. The curries didn't have the Indian flavors. The meat pieces in both dishes felt rubbery and the gravy seemed to be primarily made of tomato puree, giving it a very artificial and overly savory taste. It was only when I mixed a piece of meat into the curry that I could actually feel that it was a non-vegetarian dish.
On a positive note, the naans and rotis served were pretty good. However, I was disappointed with the quantity of rice served. Compared to other Indian restaurants in Germany, the portion of rice was very less, and I found more surprising that they were charging extra for it, whereas typically in Germany, extra rice is complimentary.
All in all, if you're looking for an authentic Indian taste, I would not recommend...
Read moreA family running place, they are so kind and friendly, we ordered two dishes and both were great. Also we ordered a drink which was a mixture if Mango lassi(very famous drink in Indian restaurants) and Rum (if I'm not wrong). NOT really my type. I would suggest you to just go for Mango Lassi.the other thing I like to mention is that you could easily find vegetarian options on the menu. A problem which we had was that none of them could speak english (Not a new thing Germany 😅) but as we were travellers in Essen, kinda having a proper conversation was a bit hard, this even led to forget one of our orders, but still I highly recommend. The whole price for 2ppl, 2 drinks, 2 nice dishes, and no appetiser was something around 30 euros(don't remember the...
