JAMY’S Burger — Restaurant in Frankfurt

From earlier this year (spring/summer 2023) (for some reason Google didn't publish it right away): I was just there and had every intention of ordering a burger. I was barely in the door and literally midsentence with a waiter, when another waitress literally pushed me aside and said “Achtung, ich muss durch.” There was no polite request or even question. Literally the first thing that happened was the shove. There was also no real urgency. It was in the middle of the afternoon and there weren’t many people there. This was such a no-go for me, that I left. Her general demeanour, also thereafter, was that I was more of an inconvenience than a guest. Why would I spend money at a place that treats me in this way? I’d like to be greeted by a smile, not a shove. And frankly, you don’t touch customers.

The burgers themselves are pretty good. I know this because I had ordered some via delivery the night before. This is why I went there today in the first place. However, the burgers are also quite expensive. Which is fine, but for this price, I expect way better service.

We loved the burger, but the service is pure Chaos. As we live 10min away from the restaurant we prefer to pick up the food ourselves instead of using lieferando, however it was never easy and simple with them. We can call 1hr in advance and still wait 45min onsite and come home with burgers missing extra ingredients we ordered.

Botton line is that the burgers are good, that's why we kept coming back.

Yesterday we ordered again from them by lieferando and stated that we want it delivered at 5pm(this is the time we will be home). Poor delivery guy arrived 15min too early. And poor us received the food with lowest quality ever. The burger patties were dry and flavorless, as if I bought the cheapest frozen patty and fried it over medium heat till the center is cooked. Nevertheless, a quarter of the sweet potato fries (5.90€) were completely black. Someone cut off Tutankhamun's fingers and put them in our fries?

Such a disappointment! The covid pandemic has brought many things, being one of them the renovation of this restaurant. I used to come here often to get a “red head” burger. Extremely tasty, spicy, typical taste of the meat having being grilled, free ingredients available to be chosen (grilled mushrooms and caramelised onions). Extremely good for about 8 euros only. Now the same burger comes at 12.5 euros (with a side dish) and an extremely disappointing taste. I am talking McDonalds taste. No taste. Meat has not taste! Moreover the whole atmosphere has changed and not for the better, whereas before it was a spacious restaurant where one would order directly at the counter and see the grill now the setup looks more like a regular restaurant having plenty of tables squeezed next to each other. I lost one meal of my life here. Don’t you make the same mistake. I hope the other Jamy’s in town have made...
