[Follow me on Instagram to stay up to date - eatwith.thien] #Miso Ramen 🇯🇵🍜 Bowl of miso based noodle soup with minced meat, onions, and spring onions. On request that I would like the broth a little spicier, there was an extra charge . #Karaage🍗 Four fried chicken fillets with mayonnaise and a slice of lemon . #Gyoza🥟 Six fried dumplings filled with pork and vegetables . 💶Prices: 🍜15€ 🍗10€ 🥟8€ . @ramen_muku_frankfurt has been my favorite japanese restaurant for Ramen so far. I haven't been there for a year, so I wanted to eat there again. As a starter, I ordered fried chicken fillets and fried dumplings for me and my companion. 🥟The dumplings were delicious. The minced meat and vegetables were flavorful. The dough was soft and there was still a thin, crispy layer sticking to the bottom, which gave the dish a crunch. 🍗The fried chicken fillets were excellent and there were very large portions in contrast to other Karaages in japanese restaurants. The breading was crispy and the meat inside was very tender. By squeezing the lemon on the chicken fillets and dipping them into the mayonnaise, the chicken fillets got a refreshing, acidic and creamy taste. 🍜Unfortunately, the restaurant has a new menu with only three types of ramen instead of seven as it was then and they were even new. The supposedly spicy Miso Ramen we ordered wasn't spicy at all and unfortunately the broth didn't meet my taste. It tasted like regular soybean paste from an asian grocery store and the noodles were very short. I couldn't taste the minced meat or couldn't find it in the broth. I hope that the old menu will come back or that at least the many delicious Ramen from back then will be integrated into the new menu . 💆♀️The waitress was very friendly and kept asking about our wellbeing. 🏮In my opinion the restaurant looks nice. It is japanese in style and recently has japanese partitions between the tables. 📍The restaurant can easily be reached by tram as the station is right in front of the restaurant . 🍽Food: 🥟4/5 🍗5/5 🍜1/5

Read moreThe food is simply excellent and they really manage to recreate the feeling of being in a real Ramen noodle bar in Japan. All personnel are fluent in German, English and Japanese as per my experience. It's definitely the place to introduce Ramen to anyone unfamiliar with Japanese cuisine and you'll make skeptics convert to believers here!
The place has important pitfalls they should address as soon as possible: they are terrible answering the phone and saying you can't answer because you are too busy is simply unacceptable and unprofessional; overall it's a nightmare to book a table. they should definitely upgrade the ventilation and air conditioning because on hot summer evenings it can be too much, like having lunch in a steaming Onsen or Volcano
Unfortunately because of the place's popularity, You cannot show up on a 'spur-of-the-moment' Ramen urge because there's never a table or bar seat available.
As some have correctly pointed out they offer No parking service and the Sachsenhausen district is notorious for being a hell trying to find a parking space. Come on foot or by tram!
UPDATE 22 OCT 2016: Phone attention has greatly improved. Best times to call are before 14:00. Be a little patient they might take a while but eventually they answer. It's a vast improvement from not getting answered. The air conditioning is still a challenge but honestly their Ramen is simply better than ever!!!
UPDATE 24 JUN 2018: The air conditioning has greatly improved, the same wonderful staff, tje food has lost none of its quality, phone reservations still a nightmare, they should consider an online reservation system with credit/debit card security deposit ready to charge...
Read moreAs a sucker for ramen, I’ve tried pretty much every second ramen place in Germany even Düsseldorf. In Frankfurt-Mainz area I’ve tried every ramen place even the newly opened ones. When I was in Japan I was mainly hunting for ramen from the ranking list called RamenDB. I’ve tried the no 1 ramen in Japan which was literally out of this world (not exaggerating), but I can say that I know what the standard of a good ramen is.
Muku is by far the best ramen I’ve had in Germany. My favorite is their Tonkotsu Ramen, even though I usually love Tsukemen more. There is a newly opened ramen in Berlin which I haven’t tried and supposedly resemble Ichiran Japan, however until I try that one, Muku is still the best in Germany.
The only downside of it is the portion size of the ramen. It’s pretty small and a bit expensive. But for the quality, I always come back.
I also especially love their sashimi rice bowl that they typically suggest before eating the ramen. Again here I know the standard of a good sushi since I’ve tried one of the best tuna sushi in Japan, which was the only time I cried of happiness because of food😅 Anyway, their sashimi bowl is heavenly good for Germany.
Their other appetizers never really fail too, but I love their sashimi bowl and ramen the most, and I think it’s the best price-performanc-ratio-wise.
Make sure to come 30 mins before their opening time on Saturday for the lunch time, line up and register your name, because they only offer Ramen in the afternoon and you can’t reserve a table...
