Ommia Restaurant — Restaurant in Frankfurt

We went as a big group of 9 on a Saturday night and apparently 8.30 pm was the earliest they could accommodate us. However when we got there, the restaurant was completely empty on the ground floor and only about 20% full on the top floor. The service was quite good in terms of care for the guests, whilst the food arrived with quite a delay, not at the same time for all at the table and all was cold (these were supposed to be hot dishes). The food itself was below average, with the majority of us expressing that the food was quite bad. The fried chicken in a crust was not finished by 3 people at our table - all who ordered it. The lamb in pistachio crust was cold on the inside and felt like a reheating job done bad, with the meat itself tasting chewy. For €35+ a plate, we all expected something really nice but alas that was not the case. The drinks were good, as well as the truffle fries and the vegan roll - that’s all I would recommend from Ommia. I think this is what this place is good for: drinks and something to pick at, while enjoying the music and the view...

The Food i got was nice but very little for the Price and they had absolutely no vegetarian options for sushi and overall quite little to choose upon. The menu was also not very nice, it was just printed out paper on cardboard in the end and was all crumbled. Additionally found it weird that at a place like this you get paper straws that dissolve themselves after ten minutes and not glass straws that also would fit way better into the vibe the restaurant wants to give off. We booked our table until 22:30 o clock, but the waiters kept on pressuring us to leave before that and that we needed to hurry up, even though we had an hour to spare. Waren gestern das erste Mal aufgrund eines Events im Ommia und leider hat es die hohen Erwartungen aufgrund der Aufmachung nicht erfüllt. Was war gut? Die Einrichtung ist sehr stylisch und man merkt, dass das Lokal in den oberen Preisklassen mitspielen möchte. Dafür gibt es eine abwechslungsreiche Karte mit recht gehobenem Preisniveau. Ebenso ist der Rooftop-Bereich wirklich schön. Leider war es das auch schon mit der Sonnenseite. Unsere Bedienung war mit 5 Tischen heillos überfordert, es dauerte ewig bis wir auch nur den Aperitif bestellen konnten und so ging es weiter: Die warme Vorspeise kam dann zusammen mit dem Hauptgang. Aber das Lammkarree war so durch, dass der Chef nach einem kurzen Blick direkt den Teller wieder mitnahm (was ihm direkt noch einen Pluspunkt einbrachte). Leider funktioniert die Abstimmung zwischen Küche und Bedienung überhaupt nicht. Das zweite Hauptgericht, gegrilltes Fischfilet, kam ebenso trocken an und die Sosse hatte schon eine Haut gebildet. Dafür setze sich die Bedienung auch mal direkt zu den Gästen, trank eine Schnaps mit und war auch sonst an der Theke sehr kommunikativ. Nur Bedienen war halt nicht ihr Ding. Das mag in einer Kneipe sinnvoll sein, aber nicht in einem Lokal mit diesem Anspruch geht das gar nicht. Beim Event setze sich das Chaos dann fort. Nur eine Stunde nach Beginn waren keine Weingläser mehr da und Wechselgeld fehlte ebenso. 30 Minuten später waren Gläser da, aber jetzt fehlten Eiswürfel. Am frühen Abend ging das Bier aus. Alles in allem kann ich beim besten Willen nicht mehr als die drei Sterne geben und die mit echtem Wohlwollen. Für uns hat das Ommia seine Chance auf neue Stammkunden vertan. 38 EUR für ein Lammkarree ohne jegliche Beilagen, da muss dann echt alles stimmen. Noch viel...
