Hotel Plaza overall is great hotel, and very good value for money. I would recommend this hotel if you are travelling alone or young couples and groups of friends on a short city break in Frankfurt, 15 mins walk from Frankfurt central station and 20 mins from city centre, or just rent a bike and ride down the riverbank and get to the city centre in 10 mins. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean with great view of the skyline. The only things I disliked about the room was the lack of a kettle, it would be nice to be able to make yourself a cup of tea from the comfort of your own room in the mornings however, we had to go down 7 floors to the desk to get pre brewed herbal tea. Also getting to the room is not the easiest of tasks as you have to get into a small lift 6 floors up and take the stairs on the final floor. This however, did not affect my trip to a large extent. Their was very few staff, all which are extremely polite and very friendly however, I feel they would gain so much by being just that much more of attentive when it comes to welcoming you, especially internationals who are travelling to Germany/Frankfurt for the first time and do not really know what the city has to offer. We did not mind doing the research ourselves but some initial direction to the main attractions Frankfurt has to offer would be nice and I'm sure would improve the quality of every visitors stay. I am not too critical however, as the price I paid for this hotel considering its proximity to centre of Frankfurt and the main station was extremely competitive. This probably is not an exclusive benefit considering Frankfurt is such a small city but if you are looking for a hotel that does the basics well at a decent price, this is perfect. Although I would probably describe this more like a fancy hostel with...
Read moreHotel prices in Frankfurt are volatile; if there is a convention in town then a forty euro room can cost four hundred. i paid forty one euros per night. I went 9-11 may 2014; prices cheaper on weekends. I reserved single room but was upgraded to king bed room on fifth floor due to my best western rewards diamond elite status. I was very pleased with upgrade. I was originally scheduled for seventh floor but elevator goes only up to sixth floor so I was pleased I was accommodated on fifth floor so I did not have to climb stairs from sixth to seventh floor. I was also given a suitcover, piece of chocolate and small bottle of jam as welcome gift. The room I was given was smoking but it only had a faint cigarette smoke and I opened the three windows and one fire escape full size door and that got rid of most of the cigarette smell. Lovely light from windows. Get room that overlooks interior courtyard, which is opposite the Esslinger strasse side though I believe rooms that overlook that street have a balcony and mine did not. Staff was cooperative and pleasant and accommodating. No coffee or team in room but available in reception for free. Computer with printer in small lobby. Comfortable bed. No fridge but mini-bar has some extra space where you can store food. Breakfast is expensive at fourteen euros extra but I did not have that. Close to main railway station and transportation hub; five minute walk. Hotel near sunzinet AG in westhafenplatz which is a big blue green glass cylindrical building that you...
Read moreStayed in this Hotel in June for more than 2 weeks with my family of 2 adults and 2 children. Had booked a triple standard and were given a free upgrade to triple comfort room. Thanks to the management!||It's a small hotel with simple designed rooms that have no air conditioning. To our luck, the triple comfort room had direct sunlight only in the second half of the day and the small, old and noisy ventilator was striving to manage the air streams... The most unpleasant experience regarding our room was that it had an emergency exit that was accessible from the corridor of the adjacent "wing" of the hotel. The hotel has to make sure there is a sign on the door in the corridor that clearly states: "Emergency exit". Its absence was the reason other guests were using this area under our windows as a smoking and chatting area... ||Overall, the breakfasts were good for a three star hotel. The staff was doing their best to replenish the freshly baked bread, croissant baskets and fruit plates on high occupancy days.||The Hotel is located close to the central train station, Main river and is easily accessible through public transport having a very short walking distance. The surrounding area is calm and the only unpleasant noise you can hear in nights is from the ambulance/firefighters rushing on nearby main streets.||Overall, the service you get is quite good comparable to the price of stay (we had good discount for a long stay and early booking). Small service improvements can make the stay...
